Neither here nor there on Election but "Reading. Writing. Revenge" should be considered one of the all-time great tag-lines.

I preferred the old Monterey artwork to be honest.

I think Sean Phillips might be doing the Night of the Living Dead art. He posted the following wip late last month and he liked this tweet today:

Thanks! I hate it. Actually kind of extra-disappointing because this really cried out for a cool faux election poster or something like that.

Or even in the style of an actual high school election poster, or something with those buttons she makes.

Despite my dislike for hand drawn art that is obviously hand drawn, that looks pretty good.

Yeah - I could be grouchy that Barry Lyndon isn't in a digipak, but it's hard to be when they executed everything so damn beautifully

Does anyone know if the Blu re-release for It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World comes in a slimmer digipak or a plastic case? And does it include the same extras and printed materials? Thanks

I'm not finding much info online about this, but the Criterion UK edition (which is blu only) is in a plastic case, so I'd think it highly likely that the separate DVD / Blu editions are plastic cases as well. The printed material should easily fit in a plastic case, so I wouldn't expect them to have skimmed anything down.

If you're looking for the Dual Format, its still available on Criterion's website and there will be a flash sale within the next couple weeks.

Most interesting thing about that seems to be how the light reflects against the cellophane.

Thanks, Minkin.

I’m not into the DFs. Prefer just standalone Blus.

I’m curious if that’s intentional and part of the design?

Definitely intentional. Having seen the film,
Spoiler
the ghosts usually first appear as that white blob/reflection
. It's a nice touch in the design for sure.

The image they used on the booklet is way more evocative than the one on the cover and could have been the basis for a much better cover treatment.

That's a surprisingly grammatically conscious piece of graffiti.

I love how the G.W Pabst films invert the font for the title and the director credit.

The Breakfast Club looks like one of those fake covers people would make of films they’d want to see in the Collection.
