Second Run have been branching out to Blu-ray, and Arrow now handle all their distribution. I've also seen Arrow Academy on social media posting about Second Run releases, so the two do seem very cosy.

What might be happening is Second Run and Arrow Academy collaborating only on upgrades to Second Run DVD titles, since Second Run have sounded hesitant to that idea - they will obviously cost more to produce, and arguably have limited appeal considering many Second Run DVD collectors will be hesitant to upgrade. The benefits of this would be more exposure to Second Run's catalogue for Arrow collectors, and Arrow's higher budgets would presumably mean more new on-disc extras could be produced. I dunno if Second Run's sales would take much of a beating from the odd upgrade, since they primarily target DVD collectors and if this is a collaboration, Second Run would still receive some revenue.

If this does turn out to be the case and not just some speculative dream scenario, I agree with your suggestion that Ikarie XB-1 wouldn't be far behind. I very nearly bought the DVD in one of the recent Arrow sales and regret not getting it now - obviously that sentiment would disappear after an announcement of a Blu-ray edition! ;)

Sorry if this is the wrong place...

I finally watched Dario Argento's Dracula 3D the other night (after letting it rot in the kevyip for literally years) hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but wasn't. It got me thinking about late Argento, and about how Sleepless is the really only Argento since Opera that I truly love.

Anyway, what are the odds that we might Sleepless on blu-ray from Arrow? I know there is an Arrow DVD release.

Failing that, anyone know how the German BD is?

Speaking of: any possibility for Opera?

I mean, do you have another idea for what the "round up" clue might have referred to? I think it's a call-response idea; "eight hours don't make a day"? Then "roundup."

I just meant that 8 hours is closer to rounding down to 0. Sorry, people inappropriately rounding up for effect is a pet peeve of mine.

If you carry out a Google image search on that teaser pic, you'll see that Roundup is the name of a town in Texas.

This is an easy purchase, but it seems like a Criterion upgrade will be coming soon. Criterion is behind their yearly Godard/Bergman upgrade too. Also, according to that leaflet in one of Arrow's recent release I got, they are going to release a Fellini title this year too.

The colors in the Academy clue are the same as the flags for Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela (upside down).

It's the cover to a Clash album. It's for Clash, which we've known is coming.
