Is this the beginning of Cohen licensing out films?

Right, but MoC is a different territory. This time it's within the same territory where Cohen operates.

The Crystal Ball is wonderful, one of my favorite comedies of the forties. It's the source of the first post pic in our Quarantined Monthly Guessing thread FYI

I also want to add how great it is that there's finally a boutique Blu-ray label specializing in Classical Hollywood Cinema that seems to understand the titles people would actually want and is making it happen. This is such an exciting prospect!

Do we know with what studio does this label has a deal?

For the moment, I'm slightly interested in Another Man's Poison (which I have seen)

They use the Blu-Ray logo, so they're pressed

That, or Reign of Terror a.k.a. The Black Book. Not a modern-urban film noir, but still a great film noir.

Looks like their deal is only with Shout Factory aka Westchester Films. Here's their clarification re: Another Man's Poison -
Our agreement is with Shout. We licensed Poison from them and they made the deal with Cohen for the their restoration after the fact.

So, does this mean they will release from these lists of films??

Hercules vs. the sons of the Sun
Medusa against the Son of Hercules

That's not necessarily a guarantee. Film Detective also uses the Blu-Ray logo and their discs are burnt.

Well, they're not supposed to, but I guess PD Bandit labels are the ultimate rebels! Let's hope since they're bothering to license from Shout and studios that they know their audience enough to give us Pressed discs. Based on the huge MSRP it seems likely they will be pressed, but nothing is certain in our cruel world

Thanks for the responses--I tend to assume nothing with (especially new) labels.

Looking forward to several of the titles and all the more glad they will be pressed.

Maybe it helps that they have all that data on which films were most popular as disc rentals.

Contrary to their announcement, The Killer is Loose and Tomorrow is Forever are already on MGM DVDs unless they don't count MoD releases. I hope they remember to spell Joseph Cotten's surname correctly in future!
