No specs yet David, will keep you posted. Roadshow's track record lately has been pretty good although I doubt though there will be added material.

I presume Lost Highway will be the M2K print with same extras, just like FWWM R4.

On March 2 Paramount will be releasing The Ten Commandments 3 Disc edition, including silent version.

Interestingly, Fox will be releasing a The Fly chamber box set on May 17. Includes all three original Fly films, plus Cronenbergs remake and its sequel in 2 disc editions each.

Totally OT, but I'd love to shout a toast to whoever had the idea at Aust. Post to make Barry Humphries/Dame Edna a Legend. The new stamps are a treat.

Btw, someone must write a script involving Lubitsch and Lang, just so we can see Humphries in the dual role.

Look out for Godard's Hail Mary from Umbrella, March 6th. No word yet on whether Miéville's The Book of Mary will be included, but I'll put good money that it will be.

I emailed Accent the other day to see what they have coming up in terms of DVD releases under their new distribution. They emailed me back with the following confirmed titles:

February - High Tension(Alexandre Aja) rental only
April - Twentynine Palms (Bruno Dumont) rental only
Europa (Lars Von Trier) retail/rental
Totally Fucked Up (Gregg Araki) retail/rental
May - Story of Marie & Julien (Jacques Rivette) rental only

Also, theatrical release of Matthew Barney's Drawing Restraint 9 starring the enigmatic Bjork (his wife, no less!) around mid-late May

Interesting stuff!

One of Accent's managers, hard at it inspecting a July 2007 release. Rental or retail, he's not sure yet.

I take it retail/rental means what they call a da-and-date release ie it is released on both retail and rental shelves. This is normal for older films that have been re-released on DVD. Most new films go to rental first followed by retail three months later but this does not normally apply to blockbusters these days as they seem tp be going both retail and rental on the same day.

I haven't flipped through a Penthouse in a while, but since when did Penthouse Pets pose with a Bud Light and a TV remote control?

All you need is a dirty mind, honey(those objects can be such FUN, FYI). But since I know you can be likened to Snow White(or maybe even one of her dwarfs... did I just write that? -No, can't be me...), I'll be polite and refrain from further comment.

Yeah, somehow my boring sanitary mind was able to understand what you meant. I just thought the image looked more like "lazy dude in the middle of 6th beer scratching himself while he watches TV" rather than "raunchy uninhibited girl in constant state of arousal must touch herself". But, thanks for becoming condescending and insulting. It was really helpful.

Can we "chat" about Lee Tamahori in this thread--isn't he more or less Australian?

Confirmation that Hitchcock's Lifeboat is on the streets as a two-disc set. Includes the Drew Casper commentary found on the R1, and on disc two the 'Making of..', plus 'A Talk With Hitchcock' which was released by Image many moons ago as a stand alone release. Should be found for under $20.

To each his own, I suppose. I've never been terribly impressed with any of Casper's commentaries.
