sorry I'm a little slow...

Are the Umbrellas of Cherbourg + Les Demoiselles de Rochefort some individual release (like - let's say - Five Easy Pieces, etc...) with the same content than the Demy box set (which I had bought œuf course) ? nothing exclusive here ?
I'm kind of confuse because they called it "Collector's set" release.

I've looked quickly at the bonus from "Les parapluies de Cherbourg" : they seem to have taken some bonus from sparse disks from the Demy box in order to maximize the bonus of this individual release.... but there's nothing new on it? (I wouldn't have complained if they had a redone it with the original ratio (1:66 - instead of having zooming it to full 16:9 screen)
regarding the artwork, well, I was really not fond of the artwork of the Demy box set, so they should have started it from scratch. That said, the color photo is a nice start (for an improvement- well, kind of) but it doesn't fit anymore with the original idea of their artwork (the """one""" from the box set).

regarding "Rumble Fish" (for a Criterion "treatment")- I'm happy.
About the artwork... well, I'm weak and I would have dreamt of an artwork which would contain those dream-scenes appearance of Diane Lane...

oh ok I see-
well incidentally, I've watched "La La Land" yesterday and well... we should re-evaluate in France F.F Coppola "One From The Heart" which is stunning. Damien Chazelle (I got blisters on my fingers - Helter Skelter - WhiSlapMeInTheFace) has been obviously highly influenced by F.F. Coppola's movie, although the Demy influence for the colors and the opening is obvious ("les Demoiselles de Rochefort"). I like it better than what we got from someone like Christophe Honoré.
There has some nice moments... the piano song between Emma and Ryan (it's difficult to see him as a jazz pianist - I had the feeling that we saw the Drive-character retired as a pianist), their dance-scene at the middle of the movie is nice, but the "zero gravity" scene has not the magic of "One From The Heart" (despite the weakness I have for Emma Stone since several years -that I could rewatch "Birdman" only for her... )
The A-HA "take on me" scene, with the infamous synth-guitar clavier, or the sell-your-soul scenes with the recording sessions are funny (although not as funny as "Inside Lewyn Lewis")
I really hope that people who enjoyed this movie will want to discover "Les Parapluies" or "Les Demoiselles de Rochefort"...
regarding the color I was thinking yesterday than Punch Drunk Love used the same palette but better... And it was such delightful to rewatch it on bluray...
and I was thinking a lot about this scene in "10" when Duddley Moore played some jazzy songs in the bar...

I don't yet know who the illustrator of the Tampopo cover is but it looks very much like it was done by someone from the Lucky Peach magazine artists' stable. Even if that's not the case, I assume that's intentional. For good or ill Criterion is working the hipster-foodie demographic, here.

Interestingly, the Othello release is based on a poster from the 90's release of the film:



I had been led to believe they'd base it on the poster for this same restoration, which everyone loved (or so I thought):
