So how does this compare to the MoC release?

Same 4K restoration but now with a proper encode, so I suppose that it now basically looks like the MoC disc.

Just got my copy in, it's so slim! Even with the slipcover it's thinner than a regular Blu-ray, much less a regular thick Olive case

Villa Rides has the worst Blu-ray transfer I've ever seen (replacing Christmas Eve, also from Olive). The whole movie is heavily pixelated, like streaming a YouTube video. It looks like viewing the film through a camcorder recording a tube TV screen

Never heard of this Christmas Eve and I thought I was running out of Christmas films to watch.

I don't know what's worse - the fact that Olive are releasing both seasons of Hoooperman, or the fact that I can still hum the sax-heavy theme song from 28 year memory.

Or maybe it's the fact that I'm slightly tempted to purchase these season sets.

Yeah, that last one's the worst.

Or the fact that they have apparently given up on putting out films like Outrage (?)

I've never seen Hooperman but wonder if the creators of Frasier were fans of it. The shows share the premise of a guy thrust into a situation of having to get along with a sometimes-annoying Jack Russell Terrier; Jane Leeves, who appeared in one of the episodes, was later cast as one of the five main cast members on Frasier; and both shows even used the same Korinna font for the credits:

That font was great company while not dating in high school.

I didn't see any information on it from DVD Beaver or Olive's site, but did they ever mention their source for the new release of One of Our Aircraft Is Missing?

I'm sure that most here will be excited (and rightfully so) for Pialat's Police coming to Blu in the states, but I'm particularly excited for J. Lee Thompson's King Soloman's Mines. It's a low-budget, well-intentioned Indiana Jones rip-off from Cannon films that's by a solid director. I found it to be incredibly enjoyable and fun 80s style adventure that harkens back to the old swashbuckling cinema of the 40s. Though I am probably the minority on this opinion.

Can't believe Olive just one-upped MOC with the Pialat upgrade

King Solomon's Mine was a childhood favorite of mine. Not a great film, but very entertaining. Early hot Sharon Stone too!

I remember reading an interview with Stone from 20+ years ago where she really denounced the movie. I can recall her saying the entire cast and crew was drunk from 10am on...

In mid 2011 Les plus belles escroqueries du monde/The World's Most Beautiful Swindlers was announced as forthcoming but from my search nothing of the sort was ever released. Anybody have more information about this delay?
