Wasn't sure to post in this thread or the Martin Scorsese Presents... thread. Feel free to move this. Has anyone else noticed an issue with the audio on Man Of Iron? It occurs at the 19:42 time mark right at a cut from the guy with the briefcase to Winkel. It sounds like the audio skips at this point. I tried both audio options and it is present on both. Just curious.

Yes, just starting production. Is there any bonus features anyone wants to see in it?

Perhaps some different bonus features than those that appeared on the MoC release? (For those of us who already have the MoC dvd but plan to get the Milestone BD.)

Still hoping we'll someday soon see a restoration and BluRay upgrade of Hirokazu Kore-eda's Maborosi. Keeping fingers crossed.

Ditto!

Maborosi trivia -- the cute railway that played a key role in this film is now long gone -- the entire area now is served only by bus.

The French TV series "Cinépanorama" ran a couple of segments on the making of ROCCO, one with Annie Girardot (September 24, 1960) and another with Alain Delon (December 26, 1959). It would be nice to see those with English subs.

Get James Gray to do a commentary or interview, if he's not too busy with The Lost City of Z!

Was the second round of the Polish Box Set packaged differently or maybe the outer blue box was manufactured better? Mine was packaged in tons of bubble wrap and was in perfect condition. Thanks, Dennis!

Not sure if this happened today or not, but the Polish set is once again sold out.

I had guessed a while back that Milestone had planned to do a collection of Shirley Clarke's short works, but according to this Movie Mezzanine piece Jeff linked, it's going to be a box set. I guess it could still be a while before it's announced, as these Clarke releases are so labor-intensive for Milestone, but I can't wait to find out what this'll include.

Thanks for understanding! We've been holding down two jobs since we've had Milestone and producing Notfilm these past four years. Notfilm's finally out (today!) so I'll have a little more time for restorations and video releases.

But! I'm kinda OCD (Amy will be laughing when she sees the "kinda") and we have a chance to improve some of the films I already spent a lot of money to digitize. We'll see how much we can afford, but I'd really like to have Shirley Clarke Volume 4: The Magic Box out by December. But it will include a lot of the stuff that we've been presenting with Project Shirley lectures these past few years.

Exciting! I have been anxiously awaiting Notfilm (as well as the blu ray release of Film itself). I suppose I'll have to wait a bit longer for the blu-ray to hit?

Yes, it'll be a while. We're stubbornly holding on to theatrical as a viable format. :-)

Oh I don't blame you for that. And I would happily plunk down my money to see it theatrically but doubt it will play anywhere near me. Will it get any kind of limited run or just the festival circuit? Anything in the Charlotte area?

You're right -- Charlotte's a rare town for us to play our films. Do you have a favorite art theatre you would recommend?

Absolutely! There's a small place that's been there since the 50s called the Regal Park Terrace 6 which despite its affiliation with Regal caters exclusively to the art house crowd. If you need to go deeper than that, there's the Charlotte Film Society or a great little theater in Columbia, SC called the Nickelodeon.

I was sad and shocked that it seems to have missed the Bay Area! Any chance it'll be coming back this way theatrically?

And I cannot wait for the Shirley Clarke box set. I was excited to see the mention in that Movie Mezzanine article, and then I saw the blurb in the 2016 release calendar the other day, which has me even more excited since I've been wanting to see the Frost doc, too. Can't wait to find out which shorts will be on it.

Here's the blurb from the catalog, for those interested:
PROJECT SHIRLEY VOLUME 4
Due: June 2016! Director: Shirley Clarke. USA. 1929-1987 THREE-Disc Deluxe Edition. DVD & Blu-Ray Price: TBA
If Shirley Clarke were a man, historians would have long-ago placed her in the pantheon of the great maverick directors of the century—up there with Orson Welles and John Cassavetes. Shirley Clarke’s own favorite movie heroes were Groucho Marx, Betty Boop and above all, her beloved Felix the Cat. Clarke’s impishness, sense of adventure and desire to battle society’s norms in her work led to the creation of some of cinema’s greatest treasures.

The Magic Box is Milestone’s culmination of eight years of work to explore the personal and creative life of Shirley Clarke. There is over eight hours of restored short films, newly-discovered “lost” work, unfinished tests, home mov- ies dating back to her childhood, and her Academy Award ® - winning documentary Robert Frost: A Lover’s Quarrel with the World. There is one disc devoted to her dance films, one disc to her experimental work and the last is devoted to Shirley Clarke on camera. This is easily the must have Blu-ray and DVD set for any serious — or seriously play- ful — cinephile!

So, will there still be a volume 5 of Shirley Clarke, or has everything been pooled into Volume 4?

I am checking this forum each day anxious to nab the second set, since I got the first one and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Here's hoping it's still coming soon! :)
