Me too: a terrible film, but hardly unthinkable given Criterion's release priorities over the past few years.

That's an excellent guess!

I guess "Midnight Cowboy" because I want it NOW!

I knew there was a reason the little voice inside my head implored me to resist buying the tantalizing MoC limited edition. A truly tantric exercise in restraint that ended up being!

Hopefully most of those extras are ported over to the CC release.

Cat People (1942)! Yes! Yes!! Please!!!

And if this is not a stand alone but The Complete Val Lewton Horror Films box set, that would be the best release of the year, if not the best Criterion ever.

It could be a multiple clue. Black Cat (1942), which has been rumored and

Those are obviously cat people, but perhaps the man stands in for The Leopard Man.

It is time for the annual reminder that there are no double clues.

Like that's going to stop the next page and a half of horrible guesses from people who refuse to acknowledge the obvious answer

If the clue was meant to be for a film with "black cat" in the title, there would be an actual black cat in the drawing (tails don't count).

For me it looks like the lady is caressing a leopard (and it might be one sitting to the right of her armchair), so it clearly will be an upgrade of „Bringing up Baby“.

I've never guessed one of these correctly, I'm somewhat ashamed to admit.

This one was so obvious, that even I was able to get it.

Finally, that long rumored boxset of every film ever made with "cat" in the title.

Ride the Pink Horse / The Black Stallion double clue would argue with that.

Also, I'm not seeing a black cat in this clue, just its tail. If that was hinted, a black cat would be more prominently displayed. Was hoping to count seven of those felines as The Seventh Victim clue (a stretch, but, like many, hoping for a complete Val Lewton set).

I assume this is also a double clue for Curse of the Cat People as well. As I grew up in a house like the one in the drawing, I can assure you that title is accurate.

The thing with the cats is there to lead us astray (cat). The guy's blind. The cats are alley cats. Therefore we are being led up a blind alley. The answers is really in the shelves. It's the shelves . One side has a stack of croque monsieurs and the other definitely houses a defibrillator. This is what we should be concentrating on.
