Remember my post from a few months ago regarding the Rank Noirs? Well, they've been set for release in July.

SO...

Is Redemption doing later Rollin on BD too? I am especially thinking of "Sidewalks of Bangkok", "Perdu dans New York" and "Killing Car".

That's very good news, but I had totally expected Criterion to do this one. Oh well; at least we're getting it.

I don't care who is releasing it, this is the first Kino Blu-ray I'm going to buy in a couple of years.

Why is the DVD in 1.50:1 aspect ratio?

Square vs. non-square pixels. In essence, 720x480 is really 640x480 (1.33:1).

As I understand it, native NTSC ratio is 1.50:1, whilst PAL is 1.25:1 (720x576). Both are squashed or stretched as necessary by the DVD player, to 1.33:1 for a non-anamorphic disc, or 1.78:1 otherwise.

Ah, I thought so but I seemed to remember the thread had "MGM" in the title.
Feel free to move my post to the appropriate thread. "Kino Lorber Studio Classics Acquisitions," I assume.
