There's no way that WB would give The Shining to Criterion, is there? I mean, I'm pretty sure that Warner funds its employee 401(k) plan through bi-annual reissues of The Kubrick Collection.

Criterion are always posting interesting tidbits about films they have no plans on releasing. Their social media pages are probably worse predictors than the phantom pages.

It makes sense that they post Saul Bass things what with Anatomy of a Murder and Seconds in the collection.

So, they still have a hell lot of postcards hidden in their closet! What did we do wrong not to receive them anymore? :(

Maybe this explains the Jason Reitman phantom page.

I see no scenario in which Criterion failed to put this on their wish list when dealing with Warner. The only question is if Warner handed it off, and I don't see why they wouldn't have.

I'm guessing that picture of Wenders and Fuller could mean The State of Things (directed by Wenders, featuring Fuller as an actor) coming soon?

Or perhaps The American Friend, which has also been rumored for some time.

"We somehow fit a whole pack of film lovers into our tiny DVD closet… Stay tuned."

The Angulo Brothers (of the new documentary The Wolfpack) confirmed for DVD Closet video?

Looks like it might be worth their while to invest in a Blu-ray player

I really hope that means they're doing their own transfer à la The Gold Rush, and will not be using whatever AE are this month in the UK, as that source is presumably going to be the Chaplin Estate approved 1971 re-edit, not the 15 minute longer original. Naturally the same goes for all of the other First National shorts, which AE are releasing in the UK under the 1959 "Chaplin Revue" title.
