I'd be quite pleased about that!

On Blu? Excellent. The Harvard University Film Archive recently had to cancel a screening due to an inability to find a print that hadn't gone pink. Wasn't expecting an HD upgrade to follow!

I read conflicting reports that the MGM UK disc is anamorphic, is this true or flase? Anyone have the disc?

I don't know about that disc in particular, but MGM UK has released 16X9 DVDs of films that were non-anamorphic widescreen in R1. DVD Compare sez the UK one is

That guy from Olive/Kino just confirmed some dark news: Irma La Douce has not been licensed. Great, the Billy Wilder film that would benefit the most from an HD release gets left behind because there are more important Burt Reynolds and Charles Bronson films to release

Doesn't that just mean Kino didn't license it, and that Criterion/Twilight Time/Shout Factory could have?

Yes, but looking at Amazon UK the audio subtitle list is identical to the non-anamorphic European/Australian disc. And if this review's screencaps are from the disc itself, looks non-anamorphic.

Well, we won't have to complain about it anymore with the Kino disc.

Excellent, now we're talkin'! I believe this Stanwyck noir is making its worldwide disc debut-- the only circulating copy comes off TV. Maybe this means Kino will release some more MGM noirs-- A Kiss Before Dying or Crime of Passion?
