It could be worst- at least they left the teal out of it.

There's been so much interesting artwork done for this film, and if they wanted to use a screengrab, why only include one of the Jakes?

At least the cover for the Blu-Ray will be better:

Doesn't make it less ugly.

I think it would be fine if it wasn't so... digitized? It doesn't have that pulpy one-sheet texture that a color scheme like that requires.

Just try to recognize anyone in this image without going to Amazon.co.jp and looking at the huge version:

That's not terribly different from the American version.

It's actually the original poster art. Doesn't stop it from being absolutely horrendous, though. It looks like wax figures of wax figures.

I guess an intentionally ugly/goofy cover:

Especially when Annabella Sciorra is in there instead! (Is this the point where I realise that I'm getting old, when I get more excited for the older supporting actors, sighing wistfully whilst remembering Sciorra in Whispers In The Dark, Romeo Is Bleeding and any number of 90s Abel Ferrara films, than having any interest in the youthful leads that the advertising is telling me to get excited about?)

Goofy yes, ugly is a bit of a stretch. Definitely unoriginal.

Check this baby out.

Trying to make it look modern apparently. What's the matter, the original poster wasn't even good enough as a Blu-Ray cover?

Apologies if this has been posted before, but there are just too many damn pages over the three previous threads...

The cover tries to make Cimino's film look like a direct-to-DVD action film from the past five years (made all the more plausible by Mickey Rourke's presence), instead of it being a film of the 80s.

A crummy film deserves a crummy cover! Congo was the first film I remember having developed enough critical thinking to be able to label it my first "Worst Film I'd Ever Seen." I was in middle school and, as a Crichton fan, had been so excited for the film. My best friend & I went on opening day and hated it.

I do love Bruce Campbell's bit about it, though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOmFCMhAKeU

You know a film sucks so badly when even someone who was in middle school calls it crap.

This fucking thing retails at $140.

-Edited this three years later as it looks like Kino wanted to bury the existence of this thing. So I fixed the dead image.
