Per that last link, Herzog's 'Nosferatu' coming May 20th.. No word about special features, and apparently no box set, for now.

Those announcements were just for Scream Factory, though, and presumably every other Herzog would be regular Shout Factory releases. Maybe they'd get boxed together.

April 22 - Movies 4 You: Film Noir / Thriller

EXPOSED (1983) - Screen beauty Nastassja Kinski toplines a moody drama about a young model stalked by both a sinister violinst and a terrorist. Featuring Rudolf Nureyev, Harvey Keitel, and Ian McShane.
THE VISITORS (1972) - James Woods stars in this tense drama about a Vietnam veteran whose past - in the form of two fellow ex-soldiers - comes back to haunt him.
THE HOT SPOT (1990) - Don Johnson, Jennifer Connelly and Virginia Madsen star in a steamy thriller about a drifter caught between two women in a small Texas town.
TOUGH GUYS DON'T DANCE (1987) - Acclaimed author Norman Mailer writes and directs this modern noir about a troubled writer ensnared in a web of murder and intrigue. Starring Ryan O'Neal and Isabella Rossellini.
I think that makes every Kazan film released in R1 now, right?

Oh man, oh God, oh man, oh God, oh Man.

Wonder if they'll go on an O'Neal kick and snag Fever Pitch. Not that I'm recommending it (horrid movie), but it does make Tough Guys look like Oscar material in comparison.

Ignoring OOPs yes on features. There's still an early short that's MIA and I think one or two films where he acted.

Great movie. I like that Scream is starting to branch out a bit. As good as some of the releases are; I kind of wish that Criterion had started their cult/genre label and were the ones championing some of these films instead. Scream so far has had a very narrow definition of what it's willing to brand. (mainly 80s horror.) Stuff like Ravenous, Nosferatu, Phantom of the Paradise is a most welcome broadening of Scream's output. It would be nice if they looked at foreign horror titles or even just started another line that looks at cult film outside of the horror genre.

Amazing news. I have always found this to be a tremendously underrated movie.

Just hope they change this cover art:

Kind of mind-boggling to see films by Kazan, Toback, Mailer, and Hopper buried in a budget "Movies 4 You" set. Shout must've been having a larf with that lineup.

**SURPRISE TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT!**

Happy Friday guys! Fans of 80s horror, grindhouse and women-in-prison films are in for a special treat as we are releasing the rare and long-lost 1985 exploitation film HELLHOLE this Summer on Blu-ray & DVD for the very first time this Summer!

Those of you who have seen this film know what fun it is. And a great cast of cult film & TV favorites highlight the wild shenanigans including Mary Woronov (Rock n Roll High School, Night of the Comet), Ray Sharkey (The Idolmaker, Wiseguys), Marjoe Gortner (Earthquake, Starcrash, Food of the Gods) and Judy Landers (BJ & The Bear, Vega$, The Love Boat).

Pre-order links should go up in sometime in March. Any extras we may have will be announced sometime in April.

Oh HELL YES: Lake Placid coming to Blu-ray! Such an underrated and entertaining flick-- I was the only one to vote for it in the Horror List but man, I can't wait to see this in a nice transfer for once

That's part of the fabled 'badass Betty White' double bill along with her foul mouthed grandma in Hard Rain!

That has me downright perplexed to be honest. If I were to guess, they're probably counting on that specific film to recoup some low sales from some of the other releases that probably didn't sell much.

I mean it's great they're going for 90's Horror as I felt their output was a bit too 80's centric, you know? It's just that, Lake Placid isn't exactly what I had in mind and that's not me disrespecting people who like the movie, I'm just not one of the film's biggest fans. I am interested in Ravenous however so that's very good for me.

Spot on. Everyone involved got into the spirit of things, and seemed to be having a fun time of it. As I recall, it was shot entirely in the studio, which gave it an old-school, movie matinee feel to it.

A boomerang movie: seems like a throwaway, but comes back to you in a pleasant, unexpected way.

That's no doubt because the original intention of the Scream Factory label was to showcase horror and related genre films from the 70's and 80's.

Oh, 70's Horror is a must just that a lot of their titles are like I said, a bit too 80's centric and I like 80's Horror. Hell, my favorite film of all time is A Nightmare on Elm Street.

**EXTRA-EXCITING SURPRISE TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT!**

Our 2014 "Summer of Fear" release schedule is about to get even better with the following title reveal--one which we're sure will please so many of you that have requested it. The long-lost 1983 slasher film THE FINAL TERROR is coming to Blu-ray & DVD for the first time ever!

As some of you already know, this killer-in-the-woods entry stars an eclectic group of stars including Rachel Ward (The Thorn Birds, Night School), Daryl Hannah (Splash, Blade Runner), Adrian Zmed (Grease 2, Bachelor Party, TJ Hooker) and Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos).

We're aiming for a July release. No details on extras to report at this time but the key art you see here - adapted from the original theatrical key art - is final (no pun intended).

Not all that lost since I've seen it-- it's awful, one of the worst, most incoherent of the deep woods-set slashers. There's some talent involved but it doesn't show in the final film. God, Shout, start rescuing good slashers plz

Apparently the original film elements no longer exist, but they have a good quality print to work from.

Several internet leaks today have reported the following title announcement before we could (which caught us off guard) but, nonetheless, we are very happy to report that we will be releasing the 2012 zombie film THE BATTERY later on this year!

This dark comedy has been receiving rave reviews from many reputable horror outlets and fans and we're glad we could work out a deal with the filmmakers to bring it to the DVD & Blu-ray formats.

No other details to report at this time (artwork, street date, extras, etc) but we'll keep you posted when we have them.
