who wants to bet that the Emergency Squad cover has that spelling mistake on it? I'm almost positive the retards doing the cover art aren't even reading the synopsis. they just copy paste, format, and send it off, to more ignorant people who can't proofread.

Is Rossellini's, Socrate (1970) with Jean Sylvère as the great philosopher worth seeing? Is his death scene represented properly, ie. Socrates fearlessly and beautifully makes one of the most powerful gestures ever?

Is it likely that we'll see a region 1 release from No Shame or should I go for the Italian disc when it is released?

NoShame just emailed me letting me know that there will be no December releases, but that they hope to start off 2006 with a bang.

Girl With a Suitcase, previously released as the claudia cardinale title in the Cinema Sirens Collection, has quite possibly the worst transfer I've ever watched all the way through, and only an english dub.

a screen from the Koch DVD...

It's a great little film, I can't wait to see this in an impeccable widescreen transfer with original italian audio.

It was also released by one-note studio Ivy, but I'll bet NoShame transfer will be better. Here's a DVD Savant review of that disc.

I didn't know they were releasing "Girl with a Suitcase," which is indeed very good news (well, more Cardinale always is, I'm still crossing my fingers for "Senilita" and "Gli Indifferenti").

"Violent Summer," the Maselli, and "Roma citta libera" all sound good, too.

After watching some tinto brass films recently, I'm really not looking forward to Noshame's snackbar budapest. I can only hope its a film he was given lots of money to make, and it doesn't contain an excess of hairy vaginas...

I'm glad I read the DVD Talk review, and blindly purchased the Zurlini set...this is one of the best DVD purchases I've made this year, and I'll gladly fork over for Desert of the Tartars now. Love these guys.

Shame about their earlier discs being rife with ghosting.

the only thing that is bothering me so far is how they seem to think that 1.66:1 is better as letterboxed, than anamorphic. Uno Bianca, and now Padre Pio, and St. Francis have all been released this way.

oh, and from that dvdtimes review: "Both films come with optional English subtitles. On Violent Summer they are white, while on Girl With A Suitcase they are, for some unknown reason, yellow."

Pretty sure this wasn't listed last time i looked a few days ago and what i find a bit more 'disturbing',as opposed the re-packaging,is this LE route they seem to be getting involved in...ie..The Emilio Miraglia Boxset etc...first an action figure, now a stone amulet.....

A small easter egg on the Violent Summer disc of the Zurlini boxset. If you go to the extras menu and move up the airplane on the upper left corner lights up and you get a short quote of the Lyricist Pazzaglia....

I just found out these guys released "Ubalda, all naked and warm" and Giavanonna Long Thigh" on November 14th with no advertising or any updates ont heir website, and their site is now password protected, hopefully its being updated, not sure what the hells going on, but I'm considering giving them a phone call to ask. kinda hard for me to buy all their releases when they dont even mention them.
