Any recommendations as to where affordable 27x41 frames can be acquired? The last time this question appeared on the boards someone suggested Suncoast, so it seemed worth asking again.

This isn't exactly about posters, but close enough that I'm trying here.

During the sixties (and probably earlier), it was possible to pick up souvenir booklets when you went to the movies. They covered the basic storyline, mentioned the actors, had some pretty pictures - sort of a memento of the film (when there was nothing close to home video).

I mentioned once that we'd had one from 2001 that has not be located; but, cleaning my parents' house yesterday, I found the one from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. In excellent shape, beyond yellowing pages.

I have no plans to sell it, but does anyone have any idea of how I can find out about value and how I should handle it?

God, I still remember bits and pieces of the trip to see that... It's a great film when you're a little kid and dwarfed by a big screen.

For standard one sheets like that - I'd go to Ikea. They're really cheap.

For odd shaped ones, I can't say - I've been struggling with ways to display mine.

Just stay away from their custom framing. With the cheapest available options, they would do my Metropolis poster (MOC) for $180 (you would expect museum quality glass etc for that price, but it was plastic!). I walked away and found a frame online (I can't remember the website, but I just typed in "custom online frames" on google) for about $25.
Also some of those IKEA frames are really poor quality - terrible plastic cover, the frame itself wobbles if you move it and the clips barely hold anything together.

I've had wonderful luck at Cost Plus, World Market (they go by either name depending on where you live) - with their random sales on frames or framed posters. The best frame I've gotten came with an Orangina poster inside, but it had real glass, nice border etc - all for $20 (they have $10 off $30 coupons all the time too).

my wife's new Pinterest fixation finally did some good when she pinned this badass Downhill Racer poster, i remembered there was a movie poster thread so thought I'd ask if any members have any nice professionally framed posters they would care to share...I know the Tati's are pretty popular with Mid Century Modern decor...anybody have anything really nice or rare???

I still think Criterion's failure to use that fantastic Downhill Racer one-sheet is one of their greatest cover art blunders, and yeah, it looks great in that white-on-white room.

I have lots of professionally framed posters lining the walls of my dinky apartment. They're mostly from re-releases with a few reprints and modern films mixed in. Here's one wall that I took a pic of recently.

The Seventh Seal one is one of my favorite posters I've ever had, it's so wildly inappropriate for the actual movie while also being a fairly entertaining image in of itself

That 7th Seal Spanish poster is from the re-release (probably from the 80's) without Censorship voice over and without changes into dubbing or subtitled. A Priest in the late 50s and 60s was the "translator" of Bergman films into Spanish and He made all them more catholic.

So there is a thread on movie advertising art.....and it's buried in "New Movies"....(maybe there'd be more activity here if it were easier to find).

My 2 recent Ebay acquisitions finally arrived (France to US in 15 days) & I'm quite pleased. 2 of the (4?) posters created for Cinemateque's restoration of Les Enfants du Paradis, arrived in Mint condition. Can't wait to frame them & get them on my walls:

I'd like to nominate all of the posters Paramount has commissioned for Noah, but here are just a few.

I'd happily do away with all the posters of late that feature the main character's entire figure visible but with their back to us (the above poster for "Noah", "Captain America 2", "Fifty Shades of Grey", "Lee Daniel's The Butler", "Despicable Me 2", "Elysium", "Star Trek into Darkness", etc).
