Re: Kino
Since it's Region A and sourced from a French resto, there must be a pretty good chance of a French-intertitled version coming out in France at some point.
Though whether it'll have English subtitles is another question entirely.

I thought that was a bit odd too, no extras to speak of yet it gets "best extras"?neal wrote:Exciting! Though, Beaver surely didn't mean to say that the Blu-ray version has the best extras...
Pity it's not region free, I'd buy it if it was.

It sure looks that way. Not nearly as interesting on it's own. I guess they could be just including them as supplements.Saturnome wrote:Have they removed the shorts?
This is due on October 23. Surely it was the big title they were waiting to announce earlier.

Re: Kino
Although I understand why Kubrick wanted this suppressed, I always enjoyed this better than KILLER'S KISS. Sure, it's really rough around the edges and is essentially just a scrappy pulp movie but there's still a little something special about it. The jump in quality from nth generation bootleg to blu-ray will be astounding, a definitely minor but exciting release.

According to the Digital Bits, The Seafarers will be included as a supplement. No word on the other two.Jeff wrote:It sure looks that way. Not nearly as interesting on it's own. I guess they could be just including them as supplements.Saturnome wrote:Have they removed the shorts?

Re: Kino
Blu-ray.com posted a brief snippet about the release suggesting all 3 shorts will be included. It's still odd that the cover art makes no mention though.

Yeah, that's the difference between a buy and a rent, for me

I'm pretty sure that the Blu-Ray.com reveal originated from this Facebook post.

The big title was Kubrick, this is a new set of announcements.andyli wrote:So the big title is DIE NIBELUNGEN then. Never thought I would be seeing Fritz Lang's HARAKIRI, though.
Bummer about the Langs being on DVD only, but still very tempting!

Re: Kino
I wonder if the features from the Seafarers DVD will be ported over (probably not): a commentary track with Keith Gordon and Roger Avary, and an interview with Katharina Kubrick and Roger Avary.
