I wonder if it will be part of the StudioCanal Collection. Amazon UK lists Le Quai Des Brumes as SCC release and Planete-HD reports Soldier Blue and Cross of Iron will be (re)released as part of the Collection.
Why isn't Grand Illusion Region A compatible? Does anybody know? They obviously have the rights to make it so. Sure, Le Cercle Rouge is also Region B only, but that's probably because the Criterion release is still in-print.
Got an email from Amazon Uk about replacement discs for "Dracula: Prince Of Darkness". I don't know if they will ship the replacements outside the UK, but I still sent my information anyway.
Yup, just the 92 minute International cut, with non-removable English subtitles, extras being the same as the UK DVD, the making of featurette and trailer.
MADE IN BRITAIN
STUDIOCANAL and the ICO are delighted to announce a season of theatrical screenings in celebration of some of the finest, most entertaining and quirkiest cinema that this sceptred isle has ever produced.
The MADE IN BRITAIN season is a national screening event that will take place every Tuesday from June 5th to July 3rd inclusive will see each of the below films screen digitally in cinemas across the country.
PASSPORT TO PIMLICO - Tuesday 5th June
PLAGUE OF THE ZOMBIES - Tuesday 12th June
THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH - Tuesday 19th June
HOBSON'S CHOICE - Tuesday 26th June
QUATERMASS & THE PIT - Tuesday 3rd July
Please note that the above DATES are still tbc
Could this mean upcoming Blu-ray release of Hobson's Choice? Other four films are already on Blu-ray or coming in next few months.
A Blu-ray.com member posted German Blu-ray schedule for July and August. Quite nice selection, includes Wenders, Bunuel, Preminger, Schlöndorff, Aronofsky and others.
La grande illusion and To Be or Not to Be look great. Shame, it looks like the Lubitsch isn't coming to the UK. I guess the UK rights are owned by someone else.
My copy of La Grande Illusion came today. I haven't had any time to watch the disc yet but the blurb on the back describes Renoir as a "cult filmmaker"...cult? Really?
While the Le Quai Des Brumes DVD is still on track for June 4th, it looks like the Blu-Ray has been delayed until September 3rd. Here's the DVD cover art, which will presumably be similar to the Blu-Ray:
Maybe it will be a part of the Studio Canal Collection? (There's an updated trailer for that here)
Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie: 40th Anniversary

Trailer
PASSPORT TO PIMLICO restoration was completed at Pinewood. After rigorous assessment the best material for restoration was the fine-grain inter-positive. *It was scanned at 2k and we have spent over 40 Hours cleaning it up. We were keen to ensure the general look of the film did not stray too far from original release, particularly with reference to the day for night scenes.

Extra features will include:
Introduction by George Wilson;
Audio interview with Fritz Lang recorded at the National Film Theatre in 1962;
Inside You Only Live Once, production takes from a film in the making.
Great news about The Trial. That's a film that has suffered from lots of low quality public domain releases.
Also, it looks like the Mulholland Drive Studio Canal blu-ray is back in stock in UK as well. Been unavailable for a while & I've seen it going for silly prices on ebay, but now Play and HMV listing it as available again.
Calvin wrote:Will this be the release that finally includes Filming The Trial, I wonder?
FILMING THE TRIAL was "finished" and presented by the Munich Filmmuseum (via Oja Kodar) so the rights belong to them/her, I believe. It's possible that the footage could be licensed to Studio Canal, but when it comes to Welles...?
