Actually looks good, but I don't know if I can stomach listening to Penn do that voice for 2 whole hours.

Re: Trailers for Upcoming Films
I honestly thought this was a more cerebral revenge thriller for some reason.

This should make it less painful. I still can't believe they're showing the Once-ler.

That's why I thought he did IMMORTALS...how many more of these does he need to make to get the money/go-ahead for his own work?knives wrote:I'm assuming he's doing it to pay for good movies.
By comparison, the competing SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTER looks fairly interesting...and closer in tone to what I expected from the director of THE CELL and THE FALL.

The full trailer for Pixar's Brave is out, and it's already better than Cars 2.

NON COMPOS MENTIS: or Jerry Powell & the Delusions of Grandeur
A series of vignettes chronicling Jerry Powell, a low-level thief with memory distrust syndrome. On the edges of sanity, Powell finds himself chased by a gang of criminals as he attempts to deliver a mysterious package for a known money-launderer.

Re: Trailers for Upcoming Films
Not sure where to put this; it could have gone here (though it's not a trailer), or in "Worst DVD covers" (though it's a poster). In any event, this simply cannot be allowed to exist without comment:

Did they just arbitrarily change the Asian cast member with one with the same family name?

What the fuck is going on with the credits at the bottom of the poster?

Nuns and orange people aside I thought that was pretty good actually. I laughed heartily at least.

Re: Trailers for Upcoming Films
Occasionally movie poster art is released to the internets before credits are finalized, and they're just a bunch of gibberish. I used to collect poster images at my old job, because web ticketing was something we had a part in, and I'd encounter this every now and again.mfunk9786 wrote:What the fuck is going on with the credits at the bottom of the poster?

Fer crissakes, Hollywood needs to quit beating around the bush and just give us the Brain Donors sequel the world deserves!

Re: Trailers for Upcoming Films
The haircut joke was funny and while it's cheap humor I was mildly amused when he poked the Jersey Shore girl in the eyes. Not the kind of movie I really enjoy but it looks better than most of the films made for this demographic. (Jack and Jill anyone?) It's not like the source material was particularly good either. Taking the comic sensibility of the Stooges and placing it in a contemporary setting gives it a kind of Dumb & Dumber vibe. Wouldn't be surprised if it did alright at the box office. I'm just as tired of sequels and remakes as everyone else but this one looks pretty harmless.
If you want to talk about a truly awful trailer, take a look at Mirror Mirror.

A DAY AT THE LIVERY DONORS...seems like an appropriate title.Cold Bishop wrote:Fer crissakes, Hollywood needs to quit beating around the bush and just give us the Brain Donors sequel the world deserves!
Anyway, what happened to the Sean Penn, Jim Carrey, Robert DeNiro casting?
The best thing I can say is the impersonations seem pretty good, but on principal I am against the attempted resurrection of dead actors to star in new films. Oh yeah, and this thing makes the old Stooges' efforts look subtle by comparison.
