Since Soul Power appears to be OOP for the time being, I'd just like to chime in and say that it is a wonderful release. I picked up the Blu for a mere £10 today and thoroughly enjoyed the film.

And the potential Tabu Blu is very good news. I haven't picked up the DVD yet, but it will be nice to have all of the American Murnau films (or at least as many as we can hope to have  ) in glorious 1080p.

Does anyone know if it has had an HD restoration?
As far as I'm aware, Artificial Eye hold the distribution rights to The Passion of Joan of Arc. I may be way off though since it's something I heard a while back.

Yup, Big O nailed it...

Saving nickles saving dimes
Working til the sun don't shine
Looking forward to happier times
with Blu Tabu

I'm going back someday
Come what may
To Blu Tabu
Where the folks are fine
And the world is mine
In Blu Tabu
Where those fishing boats
With their sails afloat
If I could only see
That familiar sunrise
Through sleepy eyes
How happy I'd be

Oh that boy of mine
By my side
The silver moon
And the evening tide
Oh some sweet day
Gonna take away
This hurting inside
Well I'll never be blue
My dreams come true
With Blu Tabu

Check the Gaumont thread, they are working on it if I remember correctly.

So, since we now know of a few more OOPs, it's probably best to catalog them here.

All of the following are DVDs (not Blus). Emphasis added to those not available in Dual Format.

1. Sunrise (Available in Dual Format)
3. Michael
5. Pitfall
6. The Face of Another
17. Vengeance is Mine (Available in Dual Format)
19. Nightmare Alley
20. Assassination
21. Punishment Park (Available in Dual Format edition)
22. The Prisoner of Shark Island
26. The Savage Innocents
27. Abhijan
28. Toni
34. Fantastic Planet (Available in Dual Format)
35-37 Naruse Box Set
45. General Idi Amin Dada
46. Le Silence de la Mer (Available in Dual Format edition)
63. Gandahar
66. Tabu (to receive Dual Format edition)
71. Mad Detective (Available in Dual Format)
79. Muriel (to receive Dual Format edition)
80. Une UNE FEME MARIÉE (Available in Dual Format)
81. Tokyo Sonata (Available in Dual Format)
94-99 Lubitsch in Berlin boxset
101. City Girl (Available in Dual Format)
102. Profound Desires of the Gods (Available in Dual Format)
103. The Burmese Harp (Available in Dual Format)
104. Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? (Available in Dual Format)
105. Make Way for Tomorrow (Available in Dual Format)

My question to Nick is: Will there be further OOP announcements in the full catalog? Or should we trust the Black vs. Grey OOP distinguisher?

LES MAITRES DU TEMPS is *not* OOP. That was an error and will be corrected in the new catalogue.

I've made further changes to the printed catalogue today because it's going to the printers tomorrow: SOUL POWER BD OOP, TABU DVD OOP, PUNISHMENT PARK DVD OOP, LE SILENCE DE LA MER DVD OOP, MURIEL DVD OOP, and the LUBITSCH set OOP.

I think Eureka have one large box of LUBITSCH boxsets left, and then that's it. So you should be able to buy it direct from them for the foreseeable.

There's some Dual Format upgrades coming, and announcements will be made week commencing October 3rd.

Or rather are any of the ones you mentioned going Blu. I know you mentioned Tabu for instance.

I assume the Meville is getting upgraded since there's a French Blu. Not sure Muriel's print quality merits a Blu. Probably it for the Lubitsches, too

If you don't have LUBITSCH or SOUL POWER, I'd get em.

Duly noted and, with money from a pub quiz win, ordered. Lubitsch has already arrived and Soul Power has been despatched. The Mabuse box is safe before my team wins another quiz, hopefully?

(I have been known to include MoC DVDs on birthday and Christmas suggestion lists.)

As I've had two PMs as a result of the above post, just to clear up any possible confusion...

My copy of Soul Power is the DVD, which is available from Amazon UK at £6.99 as I write this. I'm not Blu-enabled yet.

Also, I wasn't hinting that the Mabuse box was going OOP - I have no information about that one way or the other. I was just hoping out loud that it will still be available when I next have the money spare to buy it.

Glad to hear about MABUSE. I need to buy that soon. Since the Shogun Assassin Steelbook is sold out does that mean it's gone forever?

I agree. My favourite two releases that I own are Criterion's Berlin Alexanderplatz and Masters of Cinema's Mabuse. Two beautifully packaged sets, loaded with excellent, informative extras that are absolutely definitive.

I don't think you'll save a lot of shelf space with the Mabuse set, but I too consider it to be one of the best product I ever bought in my life.

Looks like there is no etailer selling it. You're just gonna have to go with the US Blu-ray instead...

According to Eureka's Facebook page THE FACE OF ANOTHER has just gone OOP, and no Dual Format edition planned.

There are about six older DVDs that still need to be re-pressed.

FUNERAL PARADE OF ROSES is currently being re-pressed and will be the first to appear. The repress will have a light purple MoC banner (instead of black) and contain a corrected booklet - and identical disc.
