Image Entertainment has worked out an MOD scheme with amazon along the lines of Warner Archive to bring back 46 (!) Film Preservation Associates titles which they allowed to go out of print.

Not sure if this is related, but Walsh's Regeneration has apparently recently gone OOP and I can now only find one copy of it anywhere, selling for $80 at Amazon Marketplace.

Finally some good timing for me! I picked up a sealed new copy of the Image Regeneration dvd from Amazon Marketplace for 11 bucks shipped like two weeks ago.

Herostratus: the present two-BD set will be replaced by a two-disc set with one BD and one DVD. However, the BD is being re-authored to combine the extras with the full-frame 1.33:1 version of the film. In other words, the reframed 16:9 version is going OOP. (This isn't much of a loss: although Don Levy apparently favoured widescreen projection, it proved immensely difficult to frame it convincingly when creating the widescreen BD, and it's clear that many of the shots were originally conceived with 1.33:1 in mind).

A small correction to this post, the new Dual Format edition will include the 16:9 version, because it was the only one featured on the DVD. But the 16:9 version will be SD-only - the 1080p version is going OOP.

Popped Sony's disc of Rossen's They Came From Cordura in and was horrified to discover that Sony has repressed their original flipper disc, but have dropped the 'Scope version and only retained the pan and scan side. The disc art says 2009, too-- good work, you piece of shit studio

Edit: important to note that the back of the DVD still says it has the anamorphic 2.35 version on the disc

The Winning of Barbara Worth is also very good though it's story is totally different from the usual western. It's closer to a dramatic Bucking Broadway than anything else.

Chris Snowden is calling "Last Orders" for Unknown Video - closing in the next couple of days, "never to return". A small selection of minor but enjoyable American silents on DVD-R, some unavailable elsewhere. The prints and transfers - especially the later ones with piano scores - are almost as good as many retail releases of comparable material. The older releases (originally issued on VHS, with many others that never made it to disc) have organ scores by the late Bob Vaughn, who was (mis)represented in the film Zodiac.

Some titles at least are currently sold through Amazon too and have customer reviews.

Kramer supposedly directed a good portion of Dr. T himself -- the Wikipedia claim for this is uncited, but I distinctly recall Jonathan Rosenbaum (a big fan of the movie and no great fan of Kramer) writing the same thing, based on his own information. Google isn't helping any, though.

Right here. At the end of the second paragraph, Rosenbaum writes that Geisel told him that "Kramer wound up directing a good deal of the film after Roy Rowland suffered some sort of breakdown during the film’s production." Though Rosenbaum also says that he considers Geisel "the main auteur of the film."
