Le cercle rouge's page has been changed. The specs now say "Restored, complete, uncut version, with uncompressed monaural soundtrack," so a Blu-ray of that's happening.

Damn.... two Melville's in four months that don't include Le Samurai? That isn't the kind of world I thought I lived in.

Oh great, so next batch is a re-re-re-release of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, another Melville and probably another Ozu (and not An Autumn Afternoon--the one everyone wants on Blu-ray)? Maybe an Eclipse set?

I imagine that Le cercle rouge is not going to be in the collection much longer and if they want to issue it on Blu-ray they have to do it soon.

Has the forum already gotten so jaded that people will complain about a month's releases before any of those releases are even announced? When did cynacism start driving a flying Delorean?

I'm just curious if they'll improve on those colour issues for the Melville.

Since Criterion (by way of Lee Kline) officially admitted they goofed on the original release, I'm sure they will.

I just like Bill Melidoneas changing his predictions by the hour.

I no longer read Criterion's wall or the comments to their posts because of that guy. We should all consider ourselves fortunate that he either does not post here, or that he posts here while assuming a radically different personality.

Have they upgraded a $29.99 price point DVD to Blu yet, other than The 400 Blows or the individual Monterrey Pop titles, which were orignally priced at $29.99 because of their box set counterparts? When it happens, I think Wild Strawberries may be the first.

Was Au revior les enfants originally released as a standalone or in the Malle box?

I believe both simultaneously: $29.99 individually, $79.99 in the box.

Yup. If you got the box tho, you also got the bonus features, which came on extra disc. They'll probably get ported over for the blu.

Long delay of update = Easter extravaganza - Rublev, Dreyer's Joan, Pasolini's Trilogy of Life?

They've removed "Blu-ray" from the Fear and Loathing page, which makes me think it was an accident and it's not getting announced today.

The 3-day weekend is probably messing with their announcement schedule more than a normal weekend would.

It still says DTS-HD Master Audio, though.

They don't update usually for an other 45 minutes so nothing's particularly wacky.

That's it, I'm transferring my loyalties to that Studio Canal line. THEY will have Bob Le Flambeur!
