Saludos Amigos is uncensored on the new Walt & El Grupo documentary DVD, with Goofy smoking.

Several Langs seems to have gone OOP: Secret Beyond the Door (Wild Side), House By the River (Wild Side), Western Union (Optimum) and The Spiders (Image). None of which I bought before they went OOP.

Glad I snagged Western Union while I could. Speaking of your namesake, Mr. Altman, I see that California Split (which I did not snag while I could) is starting to command collectors' prices, and is MIA from Netflix/Blockbuster.com.

There's an Italian release of Secret Beyond the Door here- has anyone seen it? I'd be curious how they compare, since reading the Beaver on the Wild Side, it didn't sound like a remarkably high quality release...

Fnac is still selling Secret Beyond the Door! A 2 disc, "Collection Les Introuvables Fnac" from Wild Side. Good enough for me.

George Cukor's IT SHOULD HAPPEN TO YOU, recently OOP, just became "Unavailable" on my Netflix queue and has been relegated to the "Save" hell. Here's hoping it becomes available via Instant View soon.

CD-Wow recently shipped me the R2 of this for $7.99. Probably time to get while the getting's good. I see the R1 is still available pretty affordably secondhand, too.

Yes, as are the AE Mizoguchi titles and Dumont's L'Humanite.

Not sure if someone mentioned previously that the Dardennes' Rosetta is also gone

P.S. Slow Motion with the same extras is available in the recent Gaumont boxset, Criterion will be releasing L'Humanite, and the Mizoguchi's are presumedly are both owned by Criterion as well so it's possible we'll see them in an Eclipse set someday.

This title is currently not available due to licensing problems. We hope that these will be sorted out within the first few months of 2011.
Same on the pages for L'Humanite and the Mizoguchis.

Maybe this has been mentioned already, but Taschen's Kubrick Archives book went OOP at some point and used copies on Amazon start around $300. Pretty tempted to sell mine, assuming anyone's actually buying at that price.

If you sell it, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. Go to a bookstore and see how smaller the in print version of the Kubrick Archives is.

There have been a few helpful tips for me on this page alone -- thanks!
I'd meant to pick up Breaker Morant for a few years while I was waiting to go Blu, so I'm glad I was able to snap up one of the few copies remaining that are at a good price. And I think I knew the R1 Vampires had gone OOP, but I didn't bother to list mine on Amazon Marketplace until reading Murdoch's reminder. Just sold it for almost $90. For that kind of money I can live without having a tinted transfer as a complement to the superb AE set.

As a tip of my own, I think it's worth noting recently OOP film-related books here, too, especially in cases where it looks like inexpensive copies could become scarcer and scarcer. I'd long meant to pick up Chris Fujiwara's Jacques Tourneur: The Cinema of Nightfall and noticed it's now OOP, so I picked up one of the copies still at Amazon Marketplace for under $10.
