I also much prefer the original. Perhaps there'll be another studio-enforced slipcover, but if there is it'll probably be the generally uninspiring movie poster.

mfunk9786, that works in the movie, but not in the cover imo
And just compare it to the other Wes Anderson covers at Criterion...
I'm getting it but i'm not happy. It will be a double dip, since i already own the movie in a cute digipak

Just do your pal mfunk a favor and don't complain to Criterion, you uptight guys already ruined the Viridiana cover for us free-thinkers.

I like it, although the original is better. This feels better suited for the booklet.
Is it just me, or is the title off centered to the left too?

I like it. I also liked the placeholder art. I'm an easy lay.

Wacky C optical illusion.Alphonse Doinel wrote:I like it, although the original is better. This feels better suited for the booklet.

I guess they had to put cast/characters on the front? That's what blows it for me. (Although yeah the not busy cover was better.)

That's what I thought at first, but its definitely off. Notice how much extra room is to the right, especially on limited.fdm wrote:Wacky C optical illusion.Alphonse Doinel wrote:I like it, although the original is better. This feels better suited for the booklet.

Re: Criterion & Eclipse Cover Art & Packaging Babble-on
I have no idea why you placed a big black line in the center of the image. That's not how you determine if something is centered in an image. I just measured from each edge to the lettering; it is almost, if not exactly, the same on right and left. The text is centered. The "Wacky C" does mess with your perception, as does the vertical of the "D" versus the rounded tangent of the "G" on the opposite side.Alphonse Doinel wrote:That's what I thought at first, but its definitely off. There are a million baby angels crying because of this "centered" discussion.

I don't know ... that big black line looks pretty centered to me.

There's something I don't get. The blu-ray cover is supposed to be smaller than the dvd cover, but I looked both covers closely and I could find no difference between them. They look the exactly same cover to me.

Maybe put some big black lines in them and compare?felipe wrote:There's something I don't get. The blu-ray cover is supposed to be smaller than the dvd cover, but I looked both covers closely and I could find no difference between them. They look the exactly same cover to me.

The black bar is just there to show that limited is not centered with the. And yes, I did measure.MyNameCriterionForum wrote:I have no idea why you placed a big black line in the center of the image. That's not how you determine if something is .
I apologize for even bringing this up. Really obnoxious, i know.

Re: Criterion & Eclipse Cover Art & Packaging Babble-on
The Blu-Ray packaging is never different on Criterion's site, yet when I did a direct comparison of Pierrot le Fou SD and Blu-Ray covers, I found that the Blu has more information on the right and left (barely) while losing some on the top and bottom. The image is also slightly smaller. With all these adjustments, perhaps the word "Limited" will be centered on the Blu. Or whatever.

I thought you were improving the art to reflect the 'Bold Black Bar' Edition, CC's shot at counterbalancing their picture-boxing practice.Alphonse Doinel wrote:The black bar is just there to show that limited is not centered with the. Re: Criterion & Eclipse Cover Art & Packaging Babble-on
Ok, so that was a surprise today. Received another package from Barnes & Nobles with Secret of the grain, Revanche and Chungking Express (all bd`s) and the latter turned out to be the "digipack"... Didn`t actually think that they`d still had that in stock.
