Has Criterion reacquired the rights, or what? I can't recall ever seeing it marked OOP on its product page.

I think they just haven't sold all the copies that were printed. They are still at the OOP sale price, too.

Just an FYI: I had to go downstate today for a class I agreed to teach (odd experience it was, considering the average age was 73!), and ran by the best B&N in Michigan w/ respect to Criterions - they carry everything. Just for shits and giggles and took in one of those $5 off any dvd more than $20 in case I only found one of the OOPs, but thankfully snapped up Bob, Grisbi, and Milky Way to satisfy the B2G1 deal. For the heck of it I kind of aw shucks'd the kid at the register and asked if I could use the coupon too since i was a new member and got it in an email and technically was paying full price for two of them...but no big whoop if not. He called his manager to ask if coupons could be used w/ the store wide sale and he/she said yes, he fiddled with it a minute, got it to work, and I walked out with all 3 for $50 and change :)

I could see the empty spots for the other OOP titles incidentally....I got the last three they had with the exception of a blu AND dvd of Man Who Fell to Earth....which I thought odd. the other 10 are now gone from that particular store.

So now all I have left to get is Obscure Object...the one I wanted most of course....I have an order w/ DeepDiscount for it, so i'll roll the dice and see if they fulfill it. I placed it within an hour of the announcement, so I should have a good spot in the queue.

Got Milky Way, That Obscure Object of Desire, Diary of a Chambermaid, The Man Who Fell to Earth (BD), Woman is a Woman, and Touchez pas au grisbi from DVDPacific yesterday. The rest of the titles going OOP, I already own. Also got Le Doulos and Army of Shadows as I expect they will be some of the ones going OOP in the next round. Might as well start buying the Studio Canal titles I don't have, so I won't have to search around for them with panic in my eyes when they go OOP.

For what it's worth, I received shipping confirmation today from DeepDiscount for Touchez pas au grisbi, which had been out of stock when I placed the order.

Exclusively in consideration of transfers The Lady Killers isn't bad. An improvement over the SD at least.

It's better than "not bad". It's the only edition of "The Ladykillers" that actually looks like it did in theatres. And in the correct aspect ratio.

"Get them before they're gone"-Amazon. Surprisingly, Amazon has traded Diary of a Chambermaid and That Obscure Object of Desire for Divorce Italian Style- which isn't Studio Canal (for those already rushing to the order page).

Well wouldn't you know, the first title to get scarce and have the price skyrocket is the lone title I wasn't able to snag and still have on backorder from DD: That Obscure Object of Desire. Prices are already $50+ at Amazon. Diary of A Chambermaid is the other no longer available anywhere I can see...the others can still be had new at Amazon and B&N. But these are definitely getting scarce a lot quicker than the last batch.

I've never ordered anything from them, so I don't know how good or bad they are, but J&R.com is showing That Obscure Object of Desire as In Stock and shipping in 1-2 business days. Diary of a Chambermaid is also showing as In Stock and shipping in 1-2 business days at J&R.com

So all of the Wave 2 titles are now OOP according to Criterion. Looks like most of them are still available via Amazon, including the Man Who Fell to Earth Blu, which is only $24.99.

Meanwhile, both the DVD and BD of Pierrot le fou are still in print, a full 3 months past their original expiration date. Go figure.

I placed an order for a bunch of the newly OOP titles at DeepDiscount when they were all already showing up as out-of-stock. I've gotten shipping confirmations for Billy Liar, The Milky Way, and The Phantom of Liberty, but today I got 'discountinued item' notices for the rest of my order, including the other Bunuels, Bob Le Flambeur, and A Woman is a Woman.

Are you sure about that? I tried to order the BD a month or so ago from Axelmusic and got the reply that they couldn't get any from Criterion.
