If M doesn't preclude another Lang title, I wonder if it could be Hangmen Also Die? It appears to be in the public domain here in the UK. In any case, it's a nice February line-up: City Girl, M, the Sirk plus the unannounced title. (And in case anyone wondered, The Burmese Harp has now been pushed back to April, according to Eureka's website)peerpee wrote:Having said that, we have a surprise February title to announce soon (to make up for the disappointment of MAN HUNT being pulled). We'll announce it on Twitter in a few weeks.

I wonder why The Burmese Harp has been pushed back so much? Some important extra?

In the current economic climate, David, it would unfortunately be a matter of your latter surmising.

Re: MoC Wishlist & Random Speculation
imdb is listing Losey's M (1951) as coming from Eureka on DVD and Blu-ray in 2010. Is it true or are they confusing it with 1931 film?

Is "M" going to be worth a double dip?
The Criterion 2-disc will be hard to beat as far as SD goes.

M is going to be a blu-ray as well, so i am sure it beats Criterion SD.Der Spieler wrote:Is "M" going to be worth a double dip?

That's why I wrote "as far as SD goes".
My question is about the DVD, not the Blu-Ray.

I prefer Losey's version and would love for it to be released alongside Lang's on Blu. However, it's probably just a typo.Ashirg wrote:imdb is listing Losey's M (1951) as coming from Eureka on DVD and Blu-ray in 2010. Is it true or are they confusing it with 1931 film?

I haven't seen the remake, but I bet that's going to be a controversial opinion.NilbogSavant wrote:I prefer Losey's version and would love for it to be released alongside Lang's on Blu. Re: MoC Wishlist & Random Speculation
I haven't seen it either, but it sounds fascinating - and Losey is always worth watching (at least, what I've seen so far...)
Now, add in Chabrol's Dr. M., (again, never seen - but I remember a photo selection from Sight & Sound about 20 years back and it looks... interesting...) and that would be a cracking box.
On the other hand, M on Blu is pretty much a no-brainer in the first place.

I am a student too, but for roughly 100 euros you can get a Philips blu-ray player. It's a shame not getting the best bang for your buck (or euro in this case).Der Spieler wrote:I don't have a blu-ray player yet, nor a HD television...

Even if you are not enjoying Full HD now, you will in the not-so-distant future, so it's a shame re-buying everything all over again.

The Losey-'M'-via-Eureka-in-2010 mention at IMDB is not true. Lang's 'M,' yes.

M details up on DVDtimes
MoC are really ruling the roost when it comes to Lang. Might have to upgrade my Eureka version of this and the Mabuse films.

Re: MoC Wishlist & Random Speculation
I'd much rather like to upgrade some of those terrible looking avi-files of some Lang films not yet available in a good edition in almost every country in the Western world. Even if this "M"-release will probably be excellent, it doesn't quite make up for a release of "Man Hunt", not to speak of "Das wandernde Bild" in my view.tubal wrote:MoC are really ruling the roost when it comes to Lang. The R1 Manhunt isn't enough for you? Personally, i prefer watching M on blu-ray than Manhunt on DVD.

Re: MoC Wishlist & Random Speculation
Yes, the R1 is allright I think (haven't seen it yet). But I simply was wondering where all this excitement for yet another "M"-release might come from, even if it's from MoC. But I had forgotten about the Blu folks, of course...

Will we ever see Wakamatsu's Violated Angels? (desperately trying to find some sort of appropriate time to ask this, have pretty much given up)
A nice boxset, but almost no worthy extras, and the technical specs aren't the best they could have been in other editors' hands. And, of course, there are only french subs.
But here it is !
