If we volunteer oldshepherd's avatar, that might just work.

I think I'm just about the only person who doesn't hate it, but I find the outcry about it pretty funny.

"Classic Fellini" is an interesting choice of words. I wonder if this means early Fellini?

or La Strada or Nights of Cabiria.

Although I tend to agree with the 8 1/2 - Nine tie-in theory.

No, I was just demonstrating that it was unnecessary. ;)

No way! I'm waiting for 9 to be the blockbuster it will be, sweep the Oscars and then be in the Criterion collection with 8 1/2 being included as a supplement on the blu-ray of 9.

Wait a second... 8 1/2 is a prequel to Nine? I never knew that.

It's not a prequel. Nine is based on the movie 8 1/2.

So with "A Christmas Tale" now bumped to a December release date, does that mean we can expect fewer December announcements than we first thought (in other words, just one instead of two)?

Holy shit, it's bumped because it's getting a Blu-ray release! Thank you, Criterion.

It's coming out December 1st. It's practically a November release. It's also best to release it right when the holiday season kicks in. Smart move, I'd say. I doubt it will stop the already expected December releases.

Criterion's website now shows both formats of Monsoon Wedding having been pushed back a month to November 20. Could be a typo, as Amazon changed the date from October 13 to October 20 yesterday. If true, this now makes Z and the Makavejev Eclipse the only October releases.

There is only one October release left now after all the changes they made today. I wonder whether some of the releases they are going to announce this week will be for October and November.

A blue ray "Gimme Shelter" just shown up on the CC site, releasing Dec 1.

My first post, BTW. Long time lurker.

looks like they finally corrected the placement of where "golden age of tv" is.
just a minute ago it was at the top of the page now its at the bottom. (might've just been my computer.)
things might get posted soon if they are updating things.
