the image is gone for this one....and i'd love to see it. anyone have it saved?
Oh, I definitely have it saved. I'm planning to somehow replace Criterion's cover with it when I buy a copy!

(however, I'm hopeless. I'm not sure how to upload pictures from my personal photo folder; it seems that I can only post pictures hosted on the internet(?). If someone will instruct me, then I'd be happy to re-post it. That, or Cosmic Bus can ;) )

Putting it on photobucket first seems to work easiest.

it looks great. You did an A+ job. I just don't prefer the orange; especially for a black and white film that is very dark. I liked the grays and blacks used for the box set reissued a couple years ago.

The design is fine but Criterion doesn't use the standard Blu cases. Therefore, your art to me is a little like watching a panda bear waterski.

That is unless Paramount buys the rights to the Seven Samurai, and then licenses them to Criterion. Know what I'm sayin'?

Oh yeah, I knew that. I did that because over at vgboxart.com, where I originally uploaded it, they like the covers put into cases and they love blu-ray.

Anyways I altered it so it was just the cover since you are all so picky.

Way too bright for the film, if you ask me, and as others have pointed out.

It's been a long time since I tinkered around in photoshop, but here's a shot at that Brighton Rock one

Not totally happy with it, but I'm rusty (not that I was ever that great to start with... :-" )

Looks good. That still seems like a natural choice for the real thing somewhere down the line.
