^ Since they've started releasing Blu-Rays, every title from the collection to be revamped has also gotten a Blu-Ray release. I'm not sure this will be an ironclad rule, but it would make complete sense if it is.

Picnic at Hanging Rock so they finally get around to a re-release for people not upgrading to HD.

this was my vote...it is in most need of being remastered/revisited. the extant disc is pretty piss poor. Kwaidan isn't as bad, so it can wait

I asked about The Wedding Banquet and Ride with the Devil, both from Focus Features. One of the titles could also be Pushing Hands, which probably reverted back to Focus like The Wedding Banquet. It's interesting that Mulvaney said "titles" indicating more than one film. I know Ang Lee probably isn't popular here but it's good news to me. I would bet that The Wedding Banquet and Pushing Hands are mostly likely to be the titles.

I'll clutch at both those straws, thanks. Those films are no-brainers for Criterion, and the Janus involvement with Red Shoes suggests a high profile theatrical re-release followed by a spruced-up DVD / Blu edition. There was a very vague suggestion of more Yang some time back, as I recall, but I don't remember Losey ever being mentioned (amybe nobody's asked).

I assume that many people, like myself, have gotten out of the habit of suggesting titles via the Criterion website, but I'm going to go plead for Brighter Summer Day with everything I've got. It can't hurt, especially if they get enough similar requests.

It probably didn't sell enough to warrant full-blown Criterion editions of the rest of his films, but I daresay most of us would be very happy with an Eclipse set (so long as it includes The Terrorizers, for me).

Definitely. Yiyi is the only Edward Yang film I’ve seen but this and the articles on him and his films in Film Comment would make an R1 or R2 DVD announcement of any of his movies welcome news!

While I - like most others I'm sure - would love to see more full CC Yang releases, an Eclipse set would be a godsend. Such a release would be a perfect edition to the line, please let this happen, [insert deity here].
