How about a Bertrand Tavernier boxset? Coup de Torchon is still in-print from Criterion, as are a number of others from Kino/Facets/Fox (now Koch) Lorber (The Watchmaker [of St. Paul], from Kino, being notably OOP), but I hope that it's still a possibility somewhere down the line.

I may just end up pimping for the R2 Optimum releases of the titles I'm most interested in, but a LG set with some/all of those titles and/or more would be much appreciated...

Lionsgate helps us rediscover "The Best Movies You Totally Forgot About" with their new Lost Collection. Considering one of the titles coming out under this banner is Repossessed, I have to call the use of the word "best" into question and wonder why that particular film couldn't stay lost. Also, note that most of these will apparently be full-screen (OK, no one cares, but still). Anyway, titles announced for The Lost Collection coming out on April 4:

Irreconcilable Differences (1984) - Drew Barrymore divorces her parents, Ryan O’Neal and Shelly Long. Also features Sharon Stone. I saw this many times in the 1980’s.

Slaughter High (1986) - A slasher film about a killer nerd.

Morgan Stewart’s Coming Home (1987) - Jon Cryer film where he plays the son of a political family who returns from boarding school. This had been on my list for a “Forgotten Film” entry. Guess it is going to make it to DVD before I can write it.

Hiding Out (1987) - Jon Cryer again, as “Maxwell Houser”, a stock broker on the run from mobsters who hides out in a high school. Also with Keith Coogan and Annabeth Gish. I saw this one at a sneak preview before it opened and many more times over the years. I just watched it again on cable not too long ago. It also featured the song “Catch Me I’m Falling”.

The Night Before (1988) - Keanu Reeves and Lori Loughlin star in this film where Reeves loses his memory right before prom.

My Best Friend is a Vampire (1988) - Vampire comedy with Robert Sean Leonard and Kathy Bates

Homer and Eddie (1989) - Mentally impaired James Belushi and Whoopi Goldberg go on a road trip.

Repossessed (1990) - Leslie Nielson and Linda Blair in this spoof of horror films.

This definitely has no extras and is full-screen. Not my favorite movie by a long shot, but it deserves better.

Well, Lionsgate sure knows how to milk the cow. They are releasing Terminator 2 Skynet Edition on Blu-ray and a limited edition packaging that includes the BD, the Extreme DVD, the Ultimate DVD and the digital copy inside the Terminator skeleton head.

Lions Gate Posts Larger-Than-Expected 4Q Loss. Perhaps they should stop releasing Saw sequels and start putting out quality product or else risk going the way of GM and the dinosaurs...

Anyone know what the story is with Director's Series sets arriving in the mail without the slipcovers? I bought the Téchiné used, so when it didn't have a slipcover I didn't give it much of a thought. Then more recently I've bought the Godard and Rossellini sets (new) from Barnes and Noble and both were missing slipcovers. Has anyone else had this happen, and if so have you complained to B&N about it, or perhaps requested the covers from Lionsgate?
I feel a little silly giving something cosmetic like this any thought, but if these things should go out of print and become at all valuable... After all, I just sold something as common as My Neighbor Totoro for twice what I paid.
