The three definites are 2 or 3 Things, My Life to Live, and Made in USA, most likely in that order (unless My Life to Live gets bumped up to a fast track the way that Pierrot le fou got bumped up).
I still am trying to get them to release Numero Deux and a restored version of Alphaville (with Germany Year 90 Nine Zero), so if they listen to me maybe we'll see more. Doubtful though.

2 or 3 Things and Made in USA (which I didn't realize was in play) need to be released at the same time in similar packaging like other related films have been, as they're sister films (one filmed during the day, the other at night).justeleblanc wrote:The three definites are 2 or 3 Things, My Life to Live, and Made in USA, most likely in that order (unless My Life to Live gets bumped up to a fast track the way that Pierrot le fou got bumped up).

The slew of new prints struck by Janus for the Film Forum's Godardfest should offer lots of clues regarding what's coming. I havent checked every single film but it seems pretty much like Janus is sourcing the majority..

They also announced they were working on Salo and that took two years.james wrote:No, I'm pretty sure they already announced it for Blu Ray, so expect it soon.LightBulbFilm wrote:Bottle Rocket better be coming soon. I just sold my old copy and I'll be damned if they take a year to get the new edition out!

Yeah, well, that movie sucks. I would be surprised if it didn't come out before The Fantastic Mr. Fox, if that's still going on. Plus, Cinematical reports it here. Anderson also says they've already began working on it, so I hope to see it soon.LightBulbFilm wrote:They also announced they were working on Salo and that took two years.james wrote:No, I'm pretty sure they already announced it for Blu Ray, so expect it soon.LightBulbFilm wrote:Bottle Rocket better be coming soon. They confirmed the Bottle Rocket Blu-ray is coming this fall (October), and I can only imagine the DVD will be simultaneously released. Unless we want to go back to the idiotic "Oh God what if it's BR exclusive!!!???" terror that followed the Blu-ray newsletter last month.LightBulbFilm wrote:They also announced they were working on Salo and that took two years.james wrote:No, I'm pretty sure they already announced it for Blu Ray, so expect it soon.LightBulbFilm wrote:Bottle Rocket better be coming soon. Alphaville with Germany would be a great way to redo the old edition. Maybe they could box them up like I Am Curious. Does anyone who who has the rights to Germany?justeleblanc wrote:I still am trying to get them to release Numero Deux and a restored version of Alphaville (with Germany Year 90 Nine Zero), so if they listen to me maybe we'll see more. I have a video copy of Germany, and on the back of the case it says "Drift Distribution" and gives a NYC address and phone number...justeleblanc wrote:Gaumont. The Crime of Monsieur Lange is a Janus print from the retrospective, so we knew it is coming at some point, but too bad for more Rohmer. I also got this message today:
To the best of my knowledge we have no plans for any Fred Schepisi films at this time. I hope this helps, and thanks for your email!
Sincerely,
Tamara

That's a shame. Like Gordon said though, as long as they have decent transfers, I don't really care. My next guess would have been Blue Underground since they have released some Australian New Wave before (My Brilliant Career, Starstruck, Newsfront), but the HTF poster in the know denied that in this other thread. Reading all of his posts in that thread, it sounds like Subversive Cinema might actually be the U.S. distributor of the two Schepisis and possibly Wake in Fright. He talks about his friend that works for an Aussie DVD producer (Umbrella?) and the U.S. "cult label" that they have been working with. He later goes on to mention the behind-the-scenes production on a couple of Subversive titles.Tamara (via Cinephrenic) wrote:To the best of my knowledge we have no plans for any Fred Schepisi films at this time.

I love that Renoir film, but I can wait as long as they do until it comes out.ellipsis7 wrote:Some clarification...
We do plan to release "Le Crime de Monsieur Lange" at some point, though a date has not yet been scheduled. As far as I know we don't have plans for more Rohmer at this time. I hope this helps, and thanks for your email!

I love the film, but I can't imagine Criterion would have any interest in it. I guess they could do a double feature with Highball, but talk about your longshot releases...LightBulbFilm wrote:Just watched Mr. Jealousy and noticed it is a Fox Lorber title. Seeing as how Noah Baumbach is already in the collection and The Royal Tenenbaums borrows so many techniques used in the film, is this really that off the wall to jump into the collection?

Sign me up for a pre-order; I love that screenplay to pieces, and it has possibly my favorite Chris Eigeman performance. Even before he binged on Rohmer and Scenes from a Marriage, Baumbach was a great writer.
Better yet, they could get uncollected Stillman films as well, and release an Eclipse Series: "The Entitled, Smartass Performances of Chris Eigeman." It would be a big unit shifter in my apartment.domino harvey wrote: I guess they could do a double feature with Highball, but talk about your longshot releases...
