First of all, I apologize if my post was muddled.kaujot wrote:Well, Mary Harron did that with Willem Dafoe's "interrogation" of Christian Bale in American Psycho, though there was no makeup involved.
This is, of course, based on my assumption that I understood your post.
To clarify, take this in mind.
Cover half of his face and that's one take. Cover the other half and that's the opposite take. Now sync them up and you got the final result. It sounds like a technical nightmare, I know, but it's what they 're going for. Fortunately, rarely, if at all, do both halves of his personality speak at the same time.
As for Dafoe in AP, that's a very good call and I think it's probably an excellent point of reference for the actors that share a scene with Eckhart when he's Two-Face. Since Eckhart gives a different performance in each take, it comes to pass that those he shares a scene with would react differently, no?
Of course, it's all hearsay at this point...

It'd be similar to this, and to Smeagol/Gollum, in that there are two personalities and the actor has to portray both of them.Antoine Doinel wrote:Wouldn't this be similar to Dafoe as the Green Goblin in Spiderman? He wasn't in make up but there many sequences of him speaking/arguing with his alter ego. But then again, he was the only person in those scenes.
The difference is that Norman Osborn and the Green Goblin were, and I mean this literally, each on different sides of the mirror when shown at the same time (as if we were talking about twin actors, very much like Dead Ringers or The Parent Trap and Multiplicity... except the twin is the same actor in those cases); or, as in the case of Gollum/Smeagol, the film would cut back and forth between each personality.
Never were both personalities phisically present at the same time in the same person: even if only one of Two-Face's identities speaks, the other one will still be in the shot in some capacity.

Apparently, as the cities appear on the Clown Travel Agency suitcase, if you live in those areas and click you are given an address. If you are the first one there you receive a leather bag containing a bowling ball and evidence bag. A clown name and a phone number are engraved onto the ball. The evidence bag contains a cell phone, charger, Joker card, and a message from the Joker instructing the participant to call the phone number on the ball to complete the task.

I can't say that I'm suprised the execs are worried, but I really hope they keep the film intact. It's unfortunate they're going by test screenings presumably with casual viewers, rather than listening to fans. But, then again, it's Warner.
EDIT: Counter rumors suggest the film will stay as originally intended.

I have no idea as to how far the brothers Nolan / Goyer are going to take this series, but if they ever get to Catwoman, I am going on the record and stating that Megan Fox should be their only candidate. I have no idea if this young woman can act at all -- I have not seen Transformers or anything else she has been in -- but given photos I have seen (including this one, in which she looks rather fetching in specs), I cannot think of a better visual candidate for Selina Kyle / Catwoman.

I'm guessing that's just a rumor, but it's a plausible one.
Pretty sure Selina Kyle has been Catwoman in all of the comics.
But, this isn't a direct adaptation (in the comics, Ducard & Ra's Al Ghul are two completely different characters) and having Dawes become Catwoman makes SOME sense dramatically.
(Certainly, she was by far the most boring character in the first film. But, then, Fox & Alfred are both pretty uninteresting characters on paper, saved by excellent casting. Perhaps Gyllenhal can make something of the Dawes character in the sequel.)
I'll be curious to see if anything eventually comes of Rutger Hauers character. Seems a good set-up for a villian. But, then, the first Batman Begins wasted a great character actor like Rade Sherbedgia in a bit part, so it's no guarantee that Hauer's casting has any particular significance.

Ironically, one of the biggest things that makes Secretary such a favourite (this coming from a person who hates all romantic comedies with the exception of 'Hoffman') is that Gyllenhal is such a plain looking person. It's refreshing to see a movie were the attraction is so much about the psychological compatibility of the characters, rather than just their both being physically attractive.Faux Hulot wrote:Between that and Secretary, I may never need to see another movie.flyonthewall2983 wrote:...I think Maggie could fit that bill just fine if it comes to that.

I never really saw it that way, but you're right. There is a physical attraction, but it takes a back-seat to the emotional link the two characters have, almost from the time they meet on screen. Someone said Maggie starts the film as the ugly duckling and comes out of her shell by the end. I wouldn't go as far as to say she looks plain in every film, but for at least half of Secretary, this holds true.
I don't think the irony would be lost on anyone going from that role, to playing the proverbial dominatrix (if this were indeed, to happen).Faux Hulot wrote:Between that and Secretary, I may never need to see another movie.flyonthewall2983 wrote:...I think Maggie could fit that bill just fine if it comes to that.
