More goodness: specs and artwork for the 3 upcoming Pinky Violence titles.

These three, although a trilogy, will only be available separately.

Honestly, they're more a thematic trilogy than anything. Interestingly, the discs are being produced by ex-Criterion employee (and all around good guy) Marc Walkow. Check out his blog for updates.

I'm not sure where you found that info, but all three titles are available for pre-order separately at Amazon. And the link you provided also says that it will only be available separately.

Don May Jr., from Synapse, talking to Grady Hendrix at Kaiju Shakedown on what's coming up, and the perils of niche DVD production:
What do you have coming up?
We're working on KARAOKE TERROR now, we just got the subtitling and we also have PARTY 7 in the works. We just finished transfer work on MADAME O, which is a really strange, almost pinky violence film. She's a doctor by day and a prostitute by night and she uses her medical tools to murder her johns. It's a black and white film with color inserts, like THE WIZARD OF OZ. The violence and the sex get color and the rest is in black & white.

...Every day I wake up, I read emails, I have my coffee and I wonder if we'll be in business next year at this time. It's really sad. I don't recommend that to anyone to get into this business. Save your money. Put it in the stock market.

Fascinating article, I'm sure peerpee would sympathise. Despite the problems it does make me feel a little prouder that I've bought a number of Synapse discs (even Organ!)

Although I feel especially guilty that I still haven't got a copy of The Long Weekend yet!

Good news that it might finally be coming, but it would be extra good news if they were throwing in a second disc of McDowell's much better short films.

Agreed--I just saw some of his short films, including LOADS. The latter is very explicit as the title suggests, but he has an authentic talent for filmmaking and a great eye for subjects. I'm so glad to hear that Synapse has at least picked up THUNDERCRACK!

Pretty much. Monsoon Wedding isn't prime rubbing material, that's why I passed on that one.
