I'm surprised Gary hasn't reviewed it.

FWIW, the Fantoma disc was also 1.66:1 (and, incidentally, also non-anamorphic).

The Fantoma presentation also just looks right (I realize that's a risky bet, but . . .), and being 1.66:1 would make sense given the circumstances of the film's making.

I'm very glad to see that the English dub of El Topo is included. The Spanish dub is better, but the English dub only heightens the oddity of the film.

Just got my shipping notice from DVD Planet so hopefully eveyone else's will be on the way too. The only Jodorowsky film I've seen before is Santa Sangre so I can't wait for it to arrive.

He hasn't even reviewed the Bava set which is criminal. BTW, mine got shipped today. The Jodorowsky, that is.

Erickson reviewed the Bava set a few weeks ago.

I ordered from DVDPlanet and I've yet to receive a shipping notice.

Perhaps I missed the first batch they received. :(

I think is a matter of zone time. I haven't received any confirmation yet, however I called a few hours ago and they told me it was shipped today. I guess you'll receive yours soon.

I hope so. That boxset was a blind-buy for me because alot of people I know (and on this forum) have talked up Jodorowsky's work. I figured at $29.99, I can't really go wrong, so I'm anticipating these films.

Brother, these films are amazing (however, not for everyone). Trust me, you'll not be disappointed. El Topo has been a very personal favorite of mine since I saw it back in the 80's. Jodorowsky is one crazy motherf...

Edit: Received shipping confirmation for overnight delivery at 6:42 P.M.

I told ya...

Mine shows as shipped 04/24. At long last, the most anticipated cult DVD in the history of the format is finally happening.

I called them today and they said that they didn't start shipping the item yet? When I told her my friends order was confirmed as shipped, she said they could have just started shipping them so my order should be processed within the next few business days. I shouldn't have called, but I can hardly take the wait any longer.

Looks unbelievable, not just in direct comparison with those awful Raro discs. I hope that the 'Constellation Jodorowsky' documentary will be also better than the VHS-quality version on the "Santa Sangre" disc.

Mine turned up yesterday. El Topo and The Holy Mountain look utterly glorious, and the restoration comparison feature for HM is revelatory. Unfortunately, the conversation with Jodorowsky on the Topo disc is marred by prepostorously large and distracting text reproductions of his utterings splayed all over the screen. The short Tarot piece on the HM disc is a nice touch. It's a cracking set, and I'm thrilled that it's lived up to all expectation.

Mine shipped on 04/24 and arrived today using the cheapest shipping option, so that pretty much rocks. Looking forward to a looooooong night.

Wow, just stumbled across this release! Awesome. Will DEFINITELY be ordering El Topo.

Question - I've not see any of Jodorowsky's other films. If I loved El Topo will I also like The Holy Mountain? Or are they different beasts?

Get the set, you'll enjoy them all. They're different beasts, but they're different in the same way.
