Milliarium Zero
Milliarium Zero is a new company specifically created to acquire and distribute films of strong political and social content. The co-founders are Dennis Doros and Amy Heller, who started Milestone Film & Video in 1990 and still run it today along with Nadja Tennstedt, Director of International Sales and Acquisitions.
Milliarium Zero translates from Latin to "milestone zero." In the US, this official landmark from where all roads in North America are measured, is located opposite the White House.
The label's first release, 1972's
Winter Soldier, is scheduled to be released April 18th. Disc specs

I'm excited about this new imprint, although they only plan to release about two titles per year. From the reviews I've read Winter Soldier is grainy and unpolished but also a moving and important cultural/political document. I hope it will help undermine the falsehood that My Lai was an isolated incident.

What's this on the Masters of Cinema page about lawsuits and a possible subpoena against Millarium Zero regarding their release of Winter Soldier? As someone who's wanted desperately to see this since first hearing of it, I was thrilled to see it finally coming out on DVD and now this. Of course MoC also says Millarium plans to go ahead with their release, but does anyone know what the trouble is?

That's what Oedipax said. He wants to know what are these lawsuits are about. And I want to know too. I searched the web for it, but didn't find anything about subpoena against the film.

Couple of questions about the Winter Soldier release. Please let me know if you have any info.
1. Is this title OOP?
2. I recently purchased a used copy of it. Did this release come with a booklet? Can someone confirm this? All I received was an information postcard.
Thanks.

I guess not many people on the forum bought this, unfortunately.
Yes, it's in print (at least a lot of sites have it in stock and I haven't heard anything about it going OOP); and no, there was no booklet.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I've been waiting on this since it got released, but I've been worried about it going OOP. Finally found it used at a decent price. It's one of the best and perhaps most unheralded documentaries on the Vietnam War ever made. It was screened only a a few dozen times upon its release, and I think it aired once on PBS in 1970, so until the re-release a few years ago, which I saw in the theater, most people hadn't even heard of it. That's a shame. Aside from being an early meeting ground for some of the best American documentarians, the film is an insightful portrait of America during wartime and it resonates deeply with what's going on in Iraq today.
