Upcoming titles:
After BANGKOK HAUNTED and OMEN in July, Panik House will be releasing two Reiko Ike films from Toei's PINKY VIOLENCE collection in September. These are the two "Elder Sister" films, which are better known as SEX & FURY (co-starring Christina Lindberg of THRILLER: A CRUEL PICTURE) and FEMALE YAKUZA TALE: Inquisition & Torture (directed by Teruo Ishii). Then in November we'll release a box set of PINKY VIOLENCE films which will include DELINQUENT GIRL BOSS: WORTHLESS TO CONFESS (Japanese title: Zubenko Bancho Zange No Neuchi Mo Nai), GIRL BOSS GUERILLA (Japanese title: Sukeban Gerira), CRIMINAL WOMAN: KILLING MELODY (Japanese title: Zenka Onna Karoshi Bushi), and TERRIFYING GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL: LYNCH LAW CLASSROOM (Japanese title: Kyoufu Joshi Koukou Bouroku Rinchi Kyoushitsu). These are the absolute cream of the crop of Japanese exploitation cinema. It's already been announced that Panik House will be releasing UNINVITED, considered by many to be the best of the recent Asian horror films.
UNINVITED may also play in a handful of theaters before the DVD is released later in 2006. What hasn't been widely announced yet is that we will be releasing TOKYO PSYCHO, which was directed by Ataru Oikawa, who directed TOMIE. We're also releasing two more Teruo Ishii films: SCREWED which was adapted from a manga by Yoshiharu Tsuge, and BLIND BEAST VS. KILLER DWARF which is adapted from an Edogawa Rampo story. There's also Junichi Suzuki's SAND CASTLE, which is a scathing social critique of reality television that was shot in 1988, and stars a cast of Junzo Itami film regulars, and TRACING JAKE which is an extremely unconventional live action / animation blend, starring an ensemble of Japan's biggest stars and highlighting the animation of 2003 Oscar nominee Koji Yamamura. As diverse as all of these sound, there is definitely something very Panik House in all of them.

Wow! A film that finally manages to bring together "DRAG QUEENS," "PLATONIC LOVE" and the "ECSTASY OF DEATH"!
I'm so there.

Well, Annie, you have convinced me to order these. If they suck, I will have to take an international flight over to kick your ass. I would have never known about these if not for you. Hopefully 70's chicks with yakuza tatoos are as cool as they seem.

Ha! Fat chance! For two reasons: a) these films do not suck; and b) before you raise your leg, you'd already be eating dust, fool!

Nah, really - the worst that could happen is me inviting you to a glass of portuguese Port wine which is not bad at all...

I watched these the other day, Sex and Fury is a lot like a Jess Franco film and has a gang of nuns with switchblades! All in all, there pretty fucked up and enjoyable, and they have really weird packaging. So, no attempted ass kickings.

A quote from the first review:
The case is somewhat unorthodox, consisting of a translucent snapper case, with superimposed images on a sleeve.
I received my copies of the two titles yesterday. The packaging may seem good in theory but in practice the translucent case is a mistake, as the images do not stand out and the text on the back is difficult to read. A white case might have been a better option.

Now if only Panik House had the balls (and the money!) to put out this recently released Toei Boxset featuring 5 exploitation gems by the notorious Teruo Ishii, I would go so far as to award them a medal! Let's all make a petition, ok?

Sex and Fury and
Female Yakuza Tale:

[quote]Overall
Sex & Fury is undoubtedly a monumental piece of exploitation cinema, mainly due to its excessive nature, which went on to influence other directors. It's also an super-bizarre and violent film which was born from one of the greatest eras of the century. There has never been a decade quite like the 70's, which managed to thrive on exploitation. Japan was enjoying a renaissance with “Pinky Violenceâ€

Some sites are saying that the Pinky box is being somewhat delayed to early December (no doubt due to the high amount of demand this set is having).
However, my Amazon.com order has already shipped yesterday so I guess that early pre-orders are being respectfully honored.

Mine hasn't shipped from Amazon yet.
I checked Amazon yesterday and the release date had changed to december. Now it is showing 'This title usually ships within 4 to 6 weeks'.
