Go Limited Edition 4K UHD
Release Date: 28 September 2026

A WEEKEND WASTED IS NEVER A WASTED WEEKEND.

In the wake of Pulp Fiction, Hollywood was quick to embrace a wave of smart, hyperkinetic crime comedies - and few captured the energy of the era better than Swingers director Doug Liman's Go. Written by future Big Fish screenwriter John August, this frenetic cult favorite channels late-90s youth culture into a wild, interconnected ride of drugs, raves and disastrous decisions over one chaotic Christmas weekend.

Desperate for rent money, supermarket clerk Ronna (Sarah Polley, Dawn of the Dead) agrees to broker a drug deal that quickly spirals out of control. Elsewhere, two soap opera actors (Jay Mohr and Scott Wolf) become entangled with an unnervingly friendly narcotics detective (William Fichtner), while a Vegas road trip involving Ronna's coworker Simon (Desmond Askew) erupts into sex, violence and utter mayhem. As the stories collide, every bad choice pushes the night closer to catastrophe.

Stylish, hilarious and relentlessly energetic, Go launched the careers of a plethora of stars, including Timothy Olyphant and Katie Holmes, while cementing Liman as one of the defining cinematic voices of the era - a razorsharp cult classic and an alternative Christmas movie like no other.

Haven’t seen this in a long time but as I recall this is pretty handily the best of the post-Pulp Fiction wannabe Tarantino movies

Saw this once for a college film class, my memory is that the first third with Polley is good, the last third is at least interesting with a fun twist on William Fichtner’s inherent untrustworthiness, and the middle is patience-trying on the back of Mr. Askew’s screen presence. I’m interested to revisit now that this 90s-teen milieu is a favorite of mine. Great opening credits and a good contender for the best No Doubt song, which is more than a lot of movies have.

Wonderful film, though sadly 4K only. I seem to be developing a collection of unwatchable discs that’s going to drive me toward upgrading my gear far sooner that I’d like.

I'd advise to at least just purchase a UHD player, even if it's only to plug it on a HD TV. At least, you'll be able to watch those movies, even if downscaled to 1080p SDR.

I missed this originally but caught it recently on streaming and rather liked it; agree with domino it's one of the better films of its type that seemed to run rampant at the time, though also agree with Narrator Returns the mid-section is it's weakest part. Thought Criterion would have picked it up since it showed up quite a bit on the Channel, but glad to see it getting a 4K

Yep! Can confirm this works. I have hooked my Sony up to the high-def TV my kids use and it works perfectly fine playing 4K discs. It just downscales but it looks fine.

I completely missed Swingers at the time, so this was my introduction to Doug Liman and still my favourite of his films. I remember the coolest girl in my college raving about this at the time (she was the one who introduced me to Out of Sight, American Psycho and the South Park movie in the theatre around this same period! Though she was also excited about the teaser trailer for Gus Van Sant's remake of Psycho as well, so you can't win them all!). This probably will not mean much to the American audience, but I remember that she was particularly amused to see the British guy in the ensemble cast played by Desmond Askew, who was only a few years from doing dozens of episodes of children's TV show Grange Hill! Whilst I was of course more interested in the girl from Baron Munchausen, now grown up!

Its also the middle of the Taye Diggs' really interesting run in 'popcorn entertainment films', with the House On Haunted Hill remake, The Way of the Gun and Equilibrium to follow.

This is another one with a great music video attached, with the remix of Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet Ride

I thought that Criterion would have picked up another 90s Sony title that hit the Channel, The People v Larry Flynt, but Arrow got it. So I'm going to predict that Arrow has also picked up a third 90s Sony title that recently ran on the Channel, The Big Hit
