Arrow Video April slate:
- Terra Formars (???)
- The Iguana with the Tongue of Fire
- Black Moon Rising
- Scared Stiff w/ additional limited ed. slipcover
Is Arrow running out of movies or something?
I'm not familiar with the other titles, but I had the old UK DVD of Black Moon Rising and found it to be enjoyable enough, although my main interest in seeing it was because it was written by John Carpenter.
Edit: Google has just informed me that the directer (Harvey Cokeliss) also directed the Jimmy Nail and Tim Spall (and Jemma Redgrave) starring UK horror Dream Demon (1988), a film I loved as a child but now appears to be stuck in rights hell!

I for one appreciate that they are spreading the box sets out more. OCD and a credit limit is never a good combination!

Linklaters Tape?
That's exactly what I was thinking. It's an ex-Metrodome title so it's entirely possible. That said, it was shot on Mini DV so it's not going to look spectacular (though it's one of a few Linklater films I've never seen). I'd still love some more Linklater though -
Waking Life was a brilliant surprise, being one of my absolute favourite films.
PS: Was actually hoping for some Soderbergh from Arrow after they did Waking Life and Suture, which both featured his name (actor in the former, producer in the latter). It's crazy to me that some of his best films aren't available on Blu-ray in the UK yet - namely Traffic and Solaris, but also King of the Hill. Perhaps Criterion will port them over sometime (except Solaris, which could potentially be licensed by someone through a Fox deal).

I guess the tape was for Demonlover, then.

Wow, Demonlover is a strong choice for the Academy line - but I guess this is one that could straddle the divide, like Borowczyk. Looks like a packed edition, too.

With also Late August, Early September being restored by Pathé for an April release in France, that's quite a hefty amount of newly restored Assayas movies (with his supervision).

Arrow tweeted this....
Here.
In 2020 the Universal Monsters return! Born on this day in 1906 one of the original monsters Lon Chaney Jr.
Does this mean what I think it means?

Curious what you think it means. The recent “Universal Classic Monsters: Complete 30-Film Collection” is a region-free Blu-ray release. I’d guess they are maybe looking at a release of the 2010 remake “The Wolfman” with Benicio del Toro, if anything.

Paris Awakens and A New Life have also already been restored, so I wouldn't be surprised to see another double bill come from Arrow later this year

I assume they are talking about Blumhouse's upcoming
Invisible Man remake.

Anyone know what happened to all the extras Arrow nixed from that release?

IIRC, there was recently some rumors that Universal would be releasing a follow up in their Dark Universe reboot despite The Mummy’s BO flop, and that it would be released in 2020.
I don’t think there’s much more to read there except this contextualisation of their “Celebrity birthday of the day” Facebook post.

Much to my surprise, according to the BBFC listing, Arrow will be releasing Jacques Tourneur’s Nightfall soon. I say ‘surprise’ as I had naturally assumed Indicator would be interested in another Tourneur noir from the Columbia catalogue after the huge success they had with Night of the Demon.
