Re: Criterion Facebook Page
It's funny how I didn't really have to click on the link to know what clip it was going to be.

Seems like a logical progression from The 400 Blows, if not Shoot the Piano Player.

Re: Criterion Facebook Page
Probably will get a new unreleased film from Truffaut this year. The Soft Skin?

That's assuming it isn't already correct. Didn't Criterion state at one point that this was as Truffaut intended - i.e. he actually wanted to mess around with the continuity by flipping the shot?justeleblanc wrote:That shot will finally be corrected... one hopes!Minkin wrote:On Jules and Jim BlurayCriterion Facebook wrote:It's probably the next Truffaut we'll revisit, but it's not scheduled yet. They said that they don't consider the shot an error because that's how it appears in the film elements they used for their transfer.zedz wrote:Didn't Criterion state at one point that this was as Truffaut intended - i.e. he actually wanted to mess around with the continuity by flipping the shot?

Re: Criterion & Eclipse Cover Art & Packaging Babble-on
Criterion has now also started commenting on the cuteness of cat photos posted on their FB wall. What is the meaning of this?

As much as I'd like to see more avant-garde cinema in the Criterion catalogue, I think richast2 is probably right in that it has to do with the white cat in Hausu.MyNameCriterionForum wrote:More Chris Marker?

Um, no. Someone posted that his cat died, but that the B&N 50% off sale boosted his spirits in his time of grief. He also posted a picture of his new cat, to which Criterion responded:
It's not a clue, people! Or is it...Your cat is super cute! We hope you enjoy your new discs too!

There releasing Alexander Hammid's "The Private Life of a Cat" as a standalone disc, without all those stupid Maya Deren films getting in the way.swo17 wrote:Criterion has now also started commenting on the cuteness of cat photos posted on their FB wall. What is the meaning of this?
Spoiler
I really do prefer Private Life of a Cat to every Maya Deren film

Someone asked if CC had any plans for a Dillinger is Dead BD, they responded with a definitive no.
