Loved his work, thankfully he was rather prolific and there's a lot left to discover. His music almost single-handedly saved the Rachel McAdams section of To the Wonder for me.

Wow, I actually thought that section was the best part of the film, and not for the music but for McAdams. She kind of reflected what Kent Jones said about Christian Bale's acting in The New World: unlike Affleck and the others, here's someone who has really thought about what it's like to inhabit Malick's cinematic world, and there's not a moment where she doesn't seem lost, aimless or a poor fit, she clearly inhabits every scene she's in rather than searching for her bearings.

I like it a lot as a self-contained unit, I just didn't think it was very well-incorporated into the rest of the film. I remember actually getting goosebumps when I realized Malick was using that particular piece of music, though.

My dad and mum knew him, they were no close friends, said hello there. Einojuhani was "modest and empathetic, a fine lad".

Ken Barrie, voice of Postman Pat, and therefore a comforting memory from my childhood.

He also sung the theme tune! (I love the original look of Postman Pat, with those Terry Gilliam-esque strangely coloured mounds/hills in the background!)

I could never work out exactly what Jess's purpose in the show was, but that was the beauty of it! I named my own black and white cat after Jess and she was always a similarly practically useless but thoroughly comforting presence!

Ken Barrie had a long history of singing.

Here he is singing Fireball XL5

And here he is doing an excellent David Soul

Saw that this morning. The third superb black, sports journalist to die in the last few years. The other two being Stuart Scott and Bryan Burwell. Burwell and Saunders were staples on Sports Reporters, which is definitely one of the more thoughtful shows on the network. As a lifetime viewer of the show, it's always amazed me how well Saunders moderated. While other people would shout and get hysterical, he always guided the conversation and did more moderating than contributing his two cents. Show will not be the same without him.

And he was also in Time Bandits as Fidgit, who gets quite a moving scene at the end of that film.
