The on-screen Sherlock Holmes who had the approval of Arthur Conan Doyle himself, Eille Norwood starred in a series of 1920s silent films. Now they’re being fully restored as part of a major BFI project made possible by Iron Mountain Entertainment Services.

Both digitally restored, Mirno Leto (A Quiet Summer, 1961) and Frosina (1952) will premiere on 11 and 16 June, respectively, at 20:00 as part of A Season of Classic Films. The films will be presented in special open-air screening events in Skopje and via live stream and they will remain free-to-view online for five days via the Cinematheque’s website.

„One Song a Day Takes a Mischief Away“ directed by Krešo Golik and produced by „Croatia film“ in 1970. is a lively reconstruction of the Zagreb pre-war culture in 1935, and the plot, set in a specific ambience and time, encompasses the daily life of the Šafranek family.

A Season of Classic Films is an initiative of the Association des Cinémathèques Européennes (ACE) to raise awareness of the work of national and regional film archives, connecting the public with cinema history and the preservation of film heritage. Twenty-two European film institutions are taking part this year offering free access to films from their precious collections. This screening is organised by Hrvatski državni arhiv, Zagreb, with the support of Creative Europe.

Valerio Zurlini with Claudia Cardinale and François Perrin is back in French theatres.
According to the web site, there has been a X4 restoration.
No blu-ray is announced in France.

This is my favorite Zurlini movie and Claudia Cardinale is It had a theatrical releases some years ago in France, then was released via mk2 (I think it was mk2) on DVD.
So far, no official blu-ray came out.
That said, I've "found" at amazon.it and bought blu-ray of this movie several years ago; this is not DVD-to HD upscaling but has really some HD details; it looks like a honest "true" HTDV transfer (as if they had access to a HD master of the old mk2 DVD and made a blu-ray with this old source).

Is there any sign of an official blu-ray release of La ragazza con la valigia ? Of course a Criterion release would be brilliant.
They release in Italy a blu-ray of "Seduced and Abandoned" for instance, but the restoration was ruined by some video filtering.

It seems to be the same one recently shown at the annual Widescreen Weekend Festival in Bradford, UK -- an original MGM pre-release announcement trailer reconstructed from 6-perf Cinerama negatives, as well as a 7-channel magnetic soundtrack.

According to restorer Dave Strohmaier, the film is being remastered in both letterbox and SmileBox formats for eventual Blu-ray and DVD release from the Warner Archive Collection sometime later in 2021.

Details about the Basic Instinct resto:
"The first step was to scan the 35MM image negative of the film in 4K DPX LOG 16 bits on Scanity – but the restoration team at Hiventy Laboratory in Joinville-le-Pont noticed a problem with the negative. STUDIOCANAL project manager, Sophie Boyer, explains – “we quickly realized that the negatives corresponded to the short version of the film. In addition, some shots from the most erotic scenes were censored in the United States. We went looking for these cuts: their negatives had disappeared, but we found them in the internegative. Thanks to this, we were able to restore the full length version of the film, the only version that Paul Verhoeven wanted to have restored.”

All damages on the negatives were identified: stains, scratches, dusty shots and instabilities. DIAMANT film software was used to remove these defects. The laboratory undertook over 100 hours of manual removal of the dark stains. Light filtering was applied to remove the superficial defects, with particular care taken to retain the grain and the texture of the original image. The film was colour graded for theatrical, home entertainment and 4K HDR release using previous digital releases and 35MM prints as a reference. The colour-grading required a painstaking homogenization between the different versions (the director’s cut vs. censored versions). The sound was similarly restored – the dynamic of the mixes was improved and the sync checked throughout, with corrections made using Protools plug-ins for a 5.1 + 2.0 version, from sources 3324."
