Holy Christ I knew nothing about those releases being forthcoming until I saw the covers -- all of which are pleasing to me. A Married Woman just went out of print stateside too, didn't it? Beautiful!

Dear Eureka,

Concerning your Masters of Cinema range.

In future please REVERSE the placement of the booklets in the case so that the spine is at the middle of the case. Too many of my booklets have been damaged in transit and doing so would solve the problem.

Having said that I have never had an audio commentary or documentary damaged in transit. Hint hint!

It's closely based on the original US poster for the film. It's of its time, and authentic = our only logic.

Yeah I know, it`s quite obvious that it is based on the US poster. I`m just saying I`m not sure if I like that and (even more) if it fits the film.
Ah well, I guess it`ll grow :D

Any new written text in the book? I'll double dip on the previous edition, but i suppose that tiny, tiny size of the letters, expanded to a "normal" one, would take about 120 pages?

We're sorting out the size of the type from the old booklet, embarking upon a complete redesign, correcting a bunch of typos, and adding a wonderful and lengthy piece by Dudley Andrew.

So from this release on, will the MoC banner on the top of the cover be gone? or does it still needs to be added?

I think that cover is simply beautiful with interesting colors and a real end of the 1920s feel in it. Darkness and colors are nicely positioned. Even the title text on blue background fits nicely to the context. I have always liked the MoC covers (I must be the only one who thinks Vampyr's MoC cover is better than Criterion cover) but this is among the best.

That Franju cover, mon coco, is a friggin' corker. Do we need the awful bracketed translation though?

Any news on extras...shorts/essays?

Glad to see a DVD release of Franju's La tĂȘte contre les murs, I'll definitely get this one. Saw it couple weeks ago and absolutely fantastic film!
