Dog Soldiers has been delayed again:
**DOG SOLDIERS UPDATE**

We regret to inform you that we are moving the release date for DOG SOLDIERS again…but hopefully for good reason. The new official street date is now 6/23/15.

The film’s Director, Neil Marshall, has recently found potentially better film elements for us to work with so that we can create a new HD transfer. In order for us to do this, we need more time and which is why a delay was prompted.

We really debated postponing this underrated gem again but we know that many of you have requested a new transfer (better than the previous Blu-ray release) and we want to exhaust every avenue to bring one to you. Once we look at the elements, we’ll keep you posted on the status of it. We hope you understand our position on this and we appreciate your patience.

I often refer to it as Howling II: Your Sister Is A Werewolf Bitch or Howling II: Your Sister Is A Werewolf, Bitch!

Jean de Florette / Manon of the Spring at DVDBeaver. NSFW (Béart full frontal).
Shows the same bias toward yellow/brown as the 2007 MGM flipper DVD.

Two tales of supernatural Italian-made shenanigans are both coming to blu-ray for the first time! 1988’s GHOSTHOUSE (directed by Umberto Lenzi of Nightmare City and Cannibal Ferox fame) will be doubled-billed with WITCHERY (which sports Linda Blair AND David Hasselhoff!?) for a planned June 30th release. Pre-order links should go up next month.

Wonder if that includes the Borowczyk titles too. Could we see another boxset?

Given that Shout wouldn't pick up Ms. 45 due to the film's content, I doubt if they'll handle the Borowczyk films.

Wow, really? That sounds odd considering they have a whole label devoted to horror, did they elaborate on this?

Cliff Mac posted at the Blu-ray forums:
Almost had MS. 45 but no one at Shout supported the film, so we didn't get it.
However, I missed a another post from Cliff, about four months later, where he said they made an offer on Ms. 45 but it was rejected. Still, I can't see them releasing the Borowczyk films.

Given they were okay with another Abel Ferrera film, that surprises me.

Well Fear City doesn't exactly open with a character getting raped twice, so there's that.

Passing on Ms. 45 was a bad fumble. Seems it's one of Drafthouse's best selling releases.

Cliff said that Shout released Fear City because it was part of a package of titles they had acquired and it has a better known cast. Don't forget that they released Fear Ciity as an exclusive, only available from their website.

HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH!! **NEW-TO-BLU ANNOUNCES**

Our celebration of this most awesome day starts off with the announcement of two blu-ray double features of four films making their debuts on blu-ray:

- 1987’s genie-on-the loose THE OUTING will be paired with 1980’s Omen-inspired THE GODSEND from Cannon Pictures.

- Empire Pictures’ CELLAR DWELLER and CATACOMBS (both from 1988) will share a double bill. John Carl Buechler (Troll, Friday the 13th Part VII) directed CELLAR and David Schmoeller (Tourist Trap, Puppetmaster, The Seduction) directed CATACOMBS.

All are expected to land on 7/14 and will receive new widescreen HD transfers. Pre-order links will go up next month.

Many of you will recognize these films from our prior “All-Night Horror Marathon” budget DVD releases back in 2013. At the time, we were unable to create new transfers for a variety of reasons (mostly financial) which caused disappointment from fans who wanted better presentations. (We felt your pain too.) We are pleased to be able to “correct” this now and have chosen some of the more requested titles from those releases to experiment with. If they do well, perhaps more will follow.

Note: Run times for each movie will be exactly as they were on the DVD releases. There are no new extras as the costs spent are going to the transfers.

**NEW TITLE ANNOUNCEMENT! **

Our Friday the 13th celebration continues by revealing that Empire Pictures’ 1988 horror-western hybrid GHOST TOWN, will be riding into the Scream Factory homestead on Blu-ray July 28th. (We’ve had several requests for this one.)

**ANOTHER NEW TITLE ANNOUNCE!***

James Spader (The Blacklist, Boston Legal) finds himself caught up in serial killer intrigue in JACK’S BACK. This 1988 underrated thriller (both Siskel and Ebert gave it a "thumbs up!") is scheduled to slash onto DVD & Blu-ray for the first time this Summer!
Image
**ONE MORE (at that’s it for today) NEW TITLE ANNOUNCE!**

This Summer we will be releasing the 1986 shocker NOMADS for the first time on Blu-ray!

From the Director of Predator and Die Hard, the action centers on Pierce Brosnan (Tomorrow Never Dies) as a doctor battling demonic spirits. Also along for the ride: Lesley Anne-Down (The Great Train Robbery), Mary Woronov (Rock N Roll High School, Night of the Comet) and even 80s singer Adam Ant (!?)

I'm interested in Nomads and Jack's Back. Though funny enough with the former, I asked somebody who worked at Shout Factory about Nomads coming to Blu-Ray (it was on the Blu-Ray.com forums) and he told me that they weren't going to do it because the DVD had low sales and wouldn't be worth it. I guess they changed their minds.

Pretty glad I already sold Nomads for big bux last year. It's an amazingly bad film, but, I mean, it's in good company with most of this announcement. Jack's Back is ridiculous, but if you like OTT Spader you'll probably get your money's worth
