considering how long this has taken and that it might (understandably) take a little while longer, is anybody else up for defending something they voted for that they think others might have skipped? and or let in on what your top choices might have been... i find this to be alright now since the voting is closed, am i right? if you disagree don't read the next paragraph. and if you are an administrator who finds this out of line... go ahead and delete it or move it. i can take it.

my number one vote went to 'Last Year at Marienbad', followed by 'Through a Glass Darkly', 'Hour of the Wolf', L'Avventura' and '2001: A Space Odyssey'. i think none of those require defense, but i can't wait to see where they actually finished.

the only films i voted for that i think might require some defense would be 'Vixen!' and 'Fando y Lis'. i hope both of those are on the list, anybody else happen to vote for them?

I'm burning to defend one of my top picks in the other thread, but my lips will remain sealed until compilation. I'm sure no one else will join me and vote it in. It's sad, because with the points I gave it and the disparity in choices there is shure to be, it would almost be a lock for a spot in the top 100.

Join the club! My lists seem to get more eclectic the more recent they are (probably simply because I've seen more films from those eras, and not just ones that have in some way 'stood the test of time'). There are several in my sixties list I can't imagine were voted for by anybody else - but maybe you and I think alike. I've got three short films in my top ten, for example, but two of them are surely shoo-ins.

If you can wait until tonight, I'll have mine. I've been on vacation for a couple weeks, but will be home tonight to send it. If not, no worries.

Yeah, I think that's one of the downsides of the delay. My list would be significantly different if I made it now. I mean, I hadn't seen Danger: Diabolik back then.

Anyway, I'm voting according to my own established canon. In it, The Beast of Yucca Flats was one of the top two movies of the 1960's.

My hopes are that neither of them are. I don't want to sound bitchy. It's just that they're two of my least favorite works by their respective directors. I think all three films in the "Man with No Name" trilogy are better than Once Upon A Time In the West and I don't think I voted for any Kubrick at all.

I don't really care too much where any movie shows up, but I would be pleasantly surprised to see Faces (1968) in the top ten. I'm not crossing my fingers.

One of the main reasons I like these lists is that they occasionally inspire me to see things that I haven't seen or heard of before. That was especially true with the silent and 1930's lists. I've seen 2001, 8 1/2, Psycho, Once Upon A Time in the West, Jules et Jim, L'Avventura, etc. I know they'll be on the list. What I'm more interested in is the bottom 50 and (especially) the darlings that didn't make the cut a la the leftover list Matt gave us from the 50's.

I don't really care for being reaffirmed in my taste nearly as much as being inspired to expand it.

I agree about 2001 and Once Upon A Time In The West, neither film made my list, but Faces didn't either. Tedcogs, what's your estimated completion date for this?

Will be very interested to see whether Jacques Demy might crack the list somewhere. "Umbrellas of Cherbourg" might be my personal favorite movie of the 60s behind "Andrei Rublev".

Will "8 1/2" top the list? Will 'La dolce vita', 'Persona', 'Leopard',
'L'avventura', 'Lawrence of Arabia', 'Belle de Jour', 'Repulsion' make the top 10?

And finally when will the list come out?
