Although i think Blair Witch is a far better film than Diary, i don't not see that much similarity between the two films beyond the POV camera gimmick.Barmy wrote:I think Blair Witch told us that when people are about to get killed, they will keep filming what is happening to them, and that, when someone is about to kill you and you drop the camera, the camera will fall such that it will continue to film the action. The characters' footage in Blair Witch only adds to the Blair Witch mythology within the film's universe and because it doesn't actually show the so called Blair Witch, it doesn't really add that much to what traditional media has covered with the myth in the film. (Even the characters in cannibal holocaust shot footage that the media did not cover)
Whereas the characters' footage in Diary proves the existence and scale of the zombie problem (something that the traditional media in the film were playing down or not showing).
