We saw our 1080p Blu-ray encode of the new METROPOLIS today for the first time. Can someone scrape us off the ceiling?

Kalat and Rosenbaum. An inspired pairing.
Plus a new documentary. And whatever other material they see fit to include. All that in what looks to be a gorgeous package.
Oh, and the movie itself, I suppose...
I can't wait for summer to be over!

Looks like it's time to invest in a region-free Blu-ray player.

Yes, and if
this poster from Kino is any indication for their cover, well...
Unless "The complete Metropolis" is something else I don't know about!
Florinaldo wrote:Plus a new documentary.
I'm pretty sure it's the ARTE documentary!

"The Complete Metropolis" is the name of the 2010 Berlin exhibition about Metropolis which recently ended at the Deutsche Kinemathek – Museum für Film und Fernsehen. We decided against using this terminology to describe the new re-release of the film in the UK, simply because it's still not entirely complete, despite the wonderful new find.

This is one of MoC's classiest-looking releases and autumn can't come soon enough. Is it going to have the old disc's spine 8 or will it get number 100?

8.1 maybe...
I know there are some who don't like the sideways artwork, but looks like everyone is positive about this one. I personally like sideways movie posters too.

That is a delightful cover! Hopefully the book won't shrink like the 120-page "Sunrise" one!

56 pages sounds like it should happen just fine!
Releases like this are the definition of why I own a region-free player!

Whatever the source, since it is listed as being from 2010, it would qualify as new, unless it is a repackaging of some sort.
