There are contradictory information about whether this restoration (which will most certainly be the one used by Criterion) is 2K or 4K. Usually, when such cases happen, it's because the scan was performed in 4K but the restoration in 2K, explaining why there can be a misundestanding about the resolution of the final restoration. I suppose this might be one of these cases.

Letter Never Sent was lacking in the extras department but this looks very nice, classic Russian cinema on Blu is always most welcome. I Am Cuba BD should be coming from Milestone soon which I am excited about as well.

Moreover a direct translation, as was done of the English version, would be "Les Grues Volent", which can be read as "The Prostitutes Steal", making it sound like a crime movie set in the red district. Instead they came up with "When the Storks Go by", which is more evocative even if ornithologically incorrect.
I missed the news about the release of the French BD. Now I am torn between the two editions.
