Mubiland descends into a fevered orgy of onanistic pedantry: members debate the semantics of the word semantics

Moist towelette, anyone?

Even I wouldn't touch that discussion. That's facepalm-move on material.

A heartfelt and moving tribute to Hideko Takamine from one of the few decent and humane mubi contributors left.(Kenji)

I don't see any pornography, Michael. Perhaps an image was hotlinked and only you are seeing the consequential image?

Someone spammed their forum so it was probably cleared up eventually.

Unfortunately, I also saw the gay porn in the tribute thread. Maybe it was straight porn, I don't know. All I know is it was some naked man doing all kinds of... nevermind, suffice it to say it was more or less an all-time low for mankind and incredibly depressing for the lack of respect shown to such a wonderful actress.

When I posted that link those obscene images were obviously not present, the absence of pre-moderation for first time contributors on that forum was responsible for the act of vile vandalism you have just described Anhedionisiac!.(Far more than the troll himself in fact who is merely an imbecile.)

Glad to hear the thread has been cleaned up. I was quite taken aback.

I am sure you were Mr.Kerpan!.on the subject of the troll I think he has a vendetta against the mubi contributor who started the Takamine tribute thread, in the past he has posted the mans avatar alongside those pornographic images. I just did not think of the possibility of that troll striking again when I posted that link. (it was a while ago that it last happened)

Movie Poster of the Week: "Rickshaw Man and the posters of Hideko Takamine.
It is curious that that the consistent quality of The daily notebook is not matched by the forum?.

I cannot answer you, because it’s totally unknown to me what you just asked me, and also very boring.

My question, and perhaps this is what swo17 was asking, is: "?."? (and for that matter, "!."?).

Pardon and excuse me are English euphemisms for why are you being so rude. As in "Did I hear that correctly".

The Bible is wonderful. It’s only one book, but you can put two grams of coke on top of the Bible, and you first take a line of coke and then you open the Bible. Because then you understand.

Okay, that's enough of this silliness.

Has this not been mentioned here? Mubi's Ignatiy Vishnevetsky is co-hosting At The Movies.

Right, and for his first week on the show he gave every movie a thumbs up.
