I mean, he probably took a second to realize it was a joke at the expense of his wife’s hair loss, but still. If it was staged he wouldn’t have faked laughing and a delayed reaction

Why was The Power of the Dog nominated for set design? Ahuge part of the movie was set outdoors and the mountains were already there, all they did was build a fairly typical house set.

I love his work, and normally I'd love to see him perform AND win, but given his COVID nuttiness of the past year, I'm not sure it would've worked out.

Also, the nominated song is actually an old one (you can find old bootlegs of it uploaded on YouTube) - feels kind of weird when an artist wins for polishing off an outtake they had lying around then writing for the film itself, but I think that's how Stevie Wonder won his. Love Stevie too but man of all the songs to win....
