I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but it occurs to me that 2022 is their 10 year anniversary. I have to assume they'll have something special in store to celebrate that milestone as well.
Edit: I was mistaken. It was founded in 2012 but 2013 is when they began to release stuff (those 5 years discs came out in 2018).

Second secret title: The Invisible Maniac (MGM).
Hints: and the other, a long overlooked American horror supernatural gem that we're proudly bring to BD for the first time. We can basically guarantee that you're not gonna be disappointed… …plus a no-less nuts, never on disc piece of American horror sleaze, lovingly restored for Blu-ray. …brutal [supernatural] revenge… …the other, another deep dive into the MGM vaults, has long languished in an incorrectly framed 15-20 year old cable master (Cinemax), an error we have dutifully corrected, and for which we've created an extensive new making-of doc, including fresh interviews with its director, producer, stars, and crew… One is a hidden gem from the direct-to-video era with one of the wildest takes on a 'tried and true' exploitation narrative, and comes to BD for the first time ever…
Adam Rifkin stated on the latest Best Movies Never Made podcast that his film THE INVISIBLE MANIAC is finally coming to Blu-ray from a 4K scan and that he couldn't go into more but that an announcement would be coming very soon.

Based on some Blu-ray.com forum members finding art on Mondo Digital's site, some of the mystery titles are Tiger Claws 1-3, TC 2000, Ebola Syndrome, and Steel and Lace.

VS to release 'Thriller - A Cruel Picture' and 'Dead Heat' on UHD next year.

Hmmm, I wonder if we are looking at another Django situation, as Synapse has the US rights to the film?

They just have the blu-ray. Isn't this similar to Kino/Criterion?

I doubt it, if Synapse is releasing it on Blu-ray, then they most likely have all optical media rights (given the situation with the film's director, there would be no Blu-ray from Synapse if they had to renegotiate for format.)
I am curious to see what happens.

Dead Heat on UHD, very welcome and unexpected.

I’ve not seen the Billy Blanks TC-2000. Could there be any hope for his two buddy cop films with Roddy Piper, Tough & Deadly and Back in Action?

Some more teases from Vinegar Syndrome's Peekarama line, according to their website: "This year will bring 8 releases which, in addition to new restorations of films by Roberta Findlay AND Doris Wishman, will include the Blu-ray debut of WTF gems like THE BEAST IN SPACE (1980) and Jean-Francois Davy’s EXHIBITION series."

It is funny to me that Vinegar Syndrome's yearly package price goes up, but you get less because they keep spinning off sub-labels: Peekarama, VSA, VSU, VSP, etc.

I think they said 38 releases in the subscription so you aren't really getting less. Plus you get 50% coupons for all those so you can pick and choose.
As for the price increase it seems to be due to doing more UHDs and the higher cost of shipping and materials. They also said they might actually end up doing more UHDs then they are promising.
Edit: also regarding Thriller it sounds like Synapse doesn't actually have the license for Thriller and I assume that's why VS emphasizes having exclusive rights from Christofer Vibenius on their website

Have they said if it is going to be both versions of Thriller or just one or other of them?

No, Synapse has the US rights to the film. Vibenius sold them to a company and Synapse bought that company. VS are emphasizing that they licensed it from Vibenius because he had seller remorse about his deal with the first company and has been denying the fact that Synapse owns the US rights to the film.

Oh interesting. Sorry, I didn't know a lot of that backstory. I guess since I'm doing the 2022 subscription I hope VS is able to get their version out. I don't care if I end up not getting it but it'll be interesting to see what happens.

No problem. I posted a link to a YouTube interview where Don May talks a bit about Vibenius in the Synapse thread.

I wonder what keeps other labels from having a subscription option
Re: Vinegar Syndrome

Especially labels like Carlotta, Arrow or Criterion (just to name a few), who have a quite steady and linear pace of releases.

If I remember correctly, Criterion briefly did consider doing a subscription option for the Eclipse sets.

I thought part of the reason was that VS does a lot of their releases in house so they have a better feel for what their schedule will look like.
I don't think Criterion would make sense unless they started doing limited editions. I think that's a big draw.

Based on comments from people that work with Criterion, they pretty much have the next year's slate penciled in by October. So it would be possible for them to offer a yearly package during a Black Friday sale.
