This is George Lazenby erasure!

...OK, he did get due representation in the montage.

Animated feature presenters had me reflecting on having to watch FLEE 50 times so far thanks to my seven year old. Kids and their animated features!

My children are more partial to Another Day of Life. They always ask me why it doesn't touch upon South Africa's role in the Angolan Civil War.

Seriously, these idiots STILL don't realize that it's a medium, not a genre.

Regina Hall sold the bit, but there’s no way it would even have been considered if the genders were switched.

I almost picked The Windshield Wiper purely on domino's "rule" of people picking the most interesting title, though it's not all that interesting

$400 million for the Academy Museum, and they still have empty rooms

Jesus, they practically pushed Ryusuke Hamaguchi off the stage to give goddamn Reba McEntire some airtime.

Well, it's being remade. We can also look at this as a 25th anniversary Money Train reunion!

I didn’t even know who Reba McEntire was before tonight, much to the surprise of my entire Oscar party

"She's a SUR-VI-VERRRR." I used to watch her awful sitcom, but I really know her only from that and Tremors. I have zero familiarity with her music.

I’ve seen Tremors more than most movies, including very recently! And yet I can’t place her

I know she was huge at one point (as a sitcom star and better still as a country superstar that actually had some good hits), but she hasn't done anything at the same level in quite a while.

I had the opposite thing happen where I went to a pub quiz in Brooklyn - the turnout was huge, and somehow I was the only one in the room that knew Loretta Lynn's music. It was an amazing disparity - like I was a huge fan and everyone else was like "Loretta who?"

Haha the two people from Gen Z here are her biggest fans and the most vocally shocked of my ignorance so now I’m even more confused

Weird - is there some kind of Dolly-like revival I'm missing?

I recommend this for anyone who's curious. It's amazing how big country albums used to look this plain - even the contents feel modest at just ten tracks.

Anyway, back to the Oscars!

So wait, they wanted to cut awards to make this shorter, and unless I’m miscounting, we have half the awards (maybe more) left at the two hour mark?!

Van Morrison should accept the Oscar for his function at propelling the narrative along with far more interest than the script (and the inclusion of his music was awful*)

How does anybody actually see Belfast and think that movie deserves a best original screenplay award? Though I could say the same thing about CODA

So I guess CODA's gonna win Best Picture? Guess I'll turn in.
